Tomorrow we’re are going to watch the end of the Frankenstein film (Kenneth Branagh’s 1994 version) with the BAT-1 class. I hope you enjoy it – I think I like it more now than the first time I saw it. Maybe I’ve got a better understanding of the story, and the background to the story, after all these years. Anyhow, why don’t you tell me what you think about that version compared with your reader version? OK, after I get enough comments from you, I promise to list some interesting web addresses to prepare for the test on the reader.

Well, I think that one of the diferences is that Henry Clerval doesn’t know anything about the monster, but in the film he knows everything and he helps Victor too!
In the film, when Elisabeth is killed by the creature, Victor gives her back to life with his machine, and in the book there ins’t anything about it.
The main difference I’ve noticed in the film has been the characters.I imagined them so different, but the film is good.
In the book, Henry Clerval is the friend of Víctor before he goes to university, but in the film they meet there.
The monster kills Elizabeth in wedding’s night. In the film the monster pulls out Elizabeth’s heart, but in the book she dies strangle. In that moment Víctor Frankenstein, in the film, wants to make a ‘new’ Elizabeth for himself in his laboratory. The monster fights with Víctor because it wants a woman, too. The ‘new’ Elizabeth dies burnt.
One of the similarities, I think, it is the end. The monster regrets its mistakes and decides to die like it deserves.
There are a lot of differences beetwen the book and the film. Some of them, is that in the film, Elizabeth and Víctor married and in the book not married.
Other difference, is that in the film, Victor try to make an other person like the monster.
And finally, in my opinion, the most significated diference is that in the film Elizabeth was converted in a monster and in the book she was dead on fires.
In my opinion, we can find more differences in the second part of the film than in the first part.
In the book, the story is explained by main characters. In the film Henry helps Victor Frankenstein to make the creature, but in the book, is the doctor who participates with him.
In the book, also, we can see that Victor got very ill. In the film he creates a creature like Elizabeth because Frankenstein killed her, while in the book he creates a girl for the monster.
Hi constantenglish,I enjoy the frankenstein film as much as the book ,because both of them are fanny although There are a lot of differenties between them, for example: When you read the story of victor’s monster you find him kind and friendly, but in the film looks like an evel monster, olso in the film victor create another monster but in the book he doesn’t …moreover the end of the story is completely different .
There are some differences between the film and the book.
One of them is that Victor Frankenstein meets Henry Clerval at the school, in the book, but in the film he meets Henry at university.
An other difference is that, in the book the monster kills Elizabeth, but in the film also Victor resurrect Elizabeth like Victor put life to the monster.
And finally, the last difference I write is the phisycal description of the monster that there’s in the book, it isn’t the same as the film.
As many people said, there are quite many differences from the film to the book, and i know, many of them will be repeated, but, i can’t find more of them. Firstly, I would like to start talking about Henry, in the film, he kwows everything, but, in the book, he doesn’t know anything
Then, when elisabeth dies (he dies in a different way in the book, and i will comment it in a moment), Victor (not me) in the book does not bring her again to live, but in the book yes. And finally, I will say that the way that elisabeth dies is different, becouse in the book elisabeth dies strangled, and in the film frankenstein pulls her hearth (it was a very nasty scene)
In the film, there are more effects than the book because there aren’t as pictures as in the book. I think that the book is better, because you imagine the ‘scenes’. The book is not as scared as the movie. However, in the film, you feel better the emotions that the author want you feel.
Hi teacher, sorry because this is the first time that I post.
I want to comment the diferences that I saw beetwen the end of film and the end of the novell. When we saw the film in English Class I saw that in the film Victor come back to live to Elizabeth but I didn´t read this in the book. This is one,the other is when Victor was dead and the creature death wiht him.
Hi, Damián. I think you’d prefer to leave this comment on our earlier discussion on the differents between the novel and the film. If you read Wednesday, May 04 post, you’ll find that I was wondering about Frankie having anything to do with organ transplantation, plastic surgery…
Why don’t you tell us how you feel about it?

Hi, i’m damian. I think that i’ve enjoyed more the movie than the book because you can see the monster’s face and ‘you can feel the monster pain’. I like the book too. It have something special, but there are some different things like victor turning to live to Elizabeth. In conclusion i’ve enjoyed both things.

I like the frankensteinfilm, and Ilike too the book because with it I imagine the history. The film is very emotioned although I don’t like some parts of it,because it is very boring but I think that the rest of the film is very beautiful. Moreover, the book is very interesting and Ilike the emotions for the monster because the end of the book, the monster expressing that’s emotions.
