Here’s one of the best metamorphosis examples in art: Apolo and Dafne, a Bernini’s baroque sculture that shows us the precise moment of Dafne’s transformation in a tree.

The 2nd course students have been working on it in the subject of history of art.

The myth was written by Ovid in his Metamorphosis: he told that Cupid threw a love arrow to Apolo, so that he loved Dafne. But Cupid threw a hate arrow to Dafne, so she hated so much the boy.

When Apolo followed his loved Dafne, she prayed to the gods to become a tree. And that’s the moment that the sculture tries to represent.

The students have done a theater adaptation of the Ovid’s myth of Apollo and Daphne.

L’exposició plantejava la metamorfosi de la ciutat quan arriba la nit. En el transcurs de la nit, la ciutat es transforma, es converteix en d’altres, en ciutats múltiples i diferents que, sovint, passen desapercebudes. Així, l’espai, el moviment, les relacions, els llocs… es perceben de manera diferent de l’habitual. Succeeix com si els territoris de la nit fossin un altre estat de la ciutat, de la vida, de les relacions i dels encontres possibles…./ The exhibition tries to reflect the metamorphosis of the city when the night arrives. Through the night, city changes, it becomes other cities, multiple and different cities, that don’t catch our attention. For that reason, spaces, movement, reltionships, places are perceived differently. It’s as if the territories of the night become another state of the city, life, relations and meetings….

A partir de les obres de l’exposició, els alumnes van triar aquelles que més els agradaven i van fer una composició literària sobre el que la imatge o obra els suggeria. Ho hem publicat virtualment en un llibre digital. / From the art works of the exhibition, every student selected one of them and they have written a composition about what these works suggested to them. We published the compositions in a digital book.
