Hello, we are in Halloween! Pumpkins, monsters, bats, witches, goblins…some different scary creatures are going to meet us in this delicious time that children love!
Put on a costume, carve a pumpkin, eat some jelly bugs with your children or friends…Halloween is an excellent time to work on fears, darkness, and those aspects of life that adults don’t like so much for their kids.

Hello! Autumn is here with its colours, flavours and feelings. This month days become shorter, summer is becoming far and time for reflection starts.
This school year we come with a lot of ideas to work, new topics and a good level of energy to learn.

In Infantil, 1st Cycle of Primary and 3rd, we will work Phonetics on Jolly Phonics Method.

In 4th level we will work “The Gruffalo”, a fantastic book with lots of vocabulary and new structures to work on. You can have a look to the official site of this amazing creature.

This is the last week of the school year. In Pla Lector, we have prepared some songs and plays in English. Today we will show the first pictures.

In P3, P4 and P5, children sang “If you’re happy”, “One little finger” and “The wheels on the bus”.

In Cicle Inicial, 1st grade, we prepared “Hello Song” of Global Wonders, “The Hokey Pokey dance” and “Five little monkeys” and in 2nd grade, the play of “The Very Hungry Caterpillar”.

They are fantastic, aren’t they?

There is an interesting exercice you can do at home, and you will know if you are a person who works most on the right or left hemisphere of your brain. I made this activity to the students of 5th and 6th level, and the results were that most of them could use both hemispheres, but they were mainly left-sided students. School traditionally has given more importance to those activities and contents that are based on left-sided way of teaching and learning, but nowadays, fortunately, this approach is changing and teachers start taking into account the different ways that a student has in order to learn.

Hello families, there is a fantastic resource to learn English songs with your children. These songs are aimed to very young learners, because of the repetition of the structures. The vocabulary is quite simple, but at the same time, they learn and enjoy singing in another language as their usual one.

Hello families,here you are a summary of the songs of the methodology Jolly Phonics that we have been working in Infantil, and Cicle Inicial. This approach focuses in phonetics, and it underlines the pronunciation in order to understand how English language works in a phonetic point of view. If children learn how to pronounce the different 42 sounds of English, it becomes easier to them reading and understanding what are they reading.
Not all the songs that appear in this link have been worked this year because of the lack of time. We had 30 minutes each week for P4, P5 and Cicle Inicial, and 60 minutes a month for P3.
If children want, they can perfectly sing and review all the phonetics we learnt this school year.

Hello families, the aim of this article is for the families to help children to learn English. Nowadays English is the main language spoken all over the world, and it’s of great importance to motivate children to speak and use this language to comunnicate. At school we have two hours and a half from 1st degree to 6th degree, and it’s quite impossible to embrace all the comunnicative aims that we would desire, so here parents can improve their childrens’ competences through games, videos, songs…

Hello families, we are arriving at the end of the school year, and we would like to share with you all the activities that we did during the whole year. Due to the lack of experience, we will try to do it, but please don’t despair because all of us, students and teacher, must learn how to work a blog.

In Pla Lector we have worked a lot of tales; “The very hungry caterpillar”, “The monkey Puzzle”, “Winnie the Witch”, “Elmer the elephant”…at the end of June we will performance several plays of these tales.

The children of Educació Infantil will performance some songs of “Super Simple Songs”.

The children of 1st grade will performance some songs and dances: “Five little monkeys”, ” The Hokey Pokey” and a surprise chosen by them.

The children of 2nd grade will performance the play “The very hungry caterpillar” by the writter Eric Carle.

The students of 3rd grade will performance the play “The Monkey Puzzle” by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler.

The students of 4th grade will performance the play “The Pied Piper of Hamelin.

The students of 5th grade will performance two different plays created in English! by them, based on the tales and characters of Winnie the Witch.

And finally, the students of 6th grade will performance a play called “The six billy goats of Castellfollit and the wolf”, based on the fairy tale of “The wolf and the seven little goats”.

When we performance all these plays, we are sure we will be able to share here with you.
