The European Day of Languages

At the Council of Europe’s initiative, the European Day of Languages has been celebrated every year since 2001 on 26 September.
The Council of Europe is the continent’s leading human rights organisation. It includes 47 member states, 28 of which are members of the European Union.

This year 6th level students have done a quiz, we have answered some questions about languages in Europe and around the world.
We have read about celebrities that speak many languages, like Shakira, Will Smith and David Beckham.
We have thought about the importance of languages to travel, to comunicate with people, to know other cultures,…

We think that people have to learn languages all their live; and that the diversity of languages in not a problem, it’s a wealth.
