A day in the life of the world.

In this project, we have studied the Present Simple and its use. We have written a composition about our daily routines. We have realised that all the students in the class share more or less the same routines: get up, have breakfast, go to school, have lunch, play sports,… Unfortunately, at the same time, we have also realised that not all children in the world are so lucky as we are.

We came across the concept of child labour It refers to the exploitation of children through any form of work that deprives children of their childhood, interferes with their ability to attend regular school, and is mentally, physically, socially or morally harmful.

Megacities, a future challenge

A megacity is a large metropolitan area, typically with a population of more than 10 million people.

In 2017, there were 47 megacities in the world. Most of these urban agglomerations are in Asia. But, there are also megacities in America, Africa and even in Europe.

The concentration of world population in urban centers is an increasing trend. In 2015, according to United Nations data, 54% of the population lived in cities. In 2030, this will grow to 60%.

These megacities have lots of bustling and lively places to visit. Moreover, they seem attractive to people because they think there are many exciting things to do there and many more opportunities compared to small towns. But, what’s behind these bright lights and high buildings?
