Year 2 Speaking activity

Here you have a display related to how we work on oral activities in the English classroom. First of all, we work lockstep through songs, games, flashcards, and later on, students build up simple sentences. Finally, as you can observe, children work in small groups. Is it at that point when they can create simple sentences autonomously. Now, they are prepared to start with the writing phase! Children from year 2 are really motivated to start writing lots and lots of sentences in English! You can see some videos related to this process here.

European menu: eTwinning project

During this school year, students from year four are involved in an eTwinning project called “European Menu: from Earth to the Moon”. This project lasts from October to May, and it is run with schools from Spain (Barcelona, Ceuta, and Valencia), one school from Austria, one from Serbia, seven from Romania, and two from Turkey. Our project focuses on discovering together the beauty of our natural satellite. Thus, the challenges of a possible life on the Moon. By using recycled materials, we will discuss lunar citizenship, build hydroponic gardens and lunar shelters, and find out how food tastes in space.

English Workshops

This year students from year 4, 5, and 6 are mixed in groups to participate in workshops one hour a week. Here, you can see some games they used to play in the English workshop.

Thanks of these games, children can learn about phonics, vocabulary, and grammar. Otherwise, they are also able to learn ways of being in a group, rules, and respect for their partners group, especially when learning a foreign language.

Easter Cards exchange

Our year 1 students created some beautiful Easter cards decorated with Easter eggs to exchange with Romanian children.

They received a card from Romanian partners some days ago. We took benefit to give children a gift from the “Superheroes to the rescue” project that arrived from the Educational Ministry.
