La iniciativa privada busca soluciones al problema creciente del mal aprendizaje de las matemáticas en nivel medio superior, por eso una importante empresa de tecnología japonesa busca insertar en nuestro país el proyecto “Laboratorio de Matemáticas”, con el cual a través del uso de las nuevas tecnologías favorecer el aprendizaje de las ciencias exactas.

Para Víctor López, docente de nivel básico y superior, miembro de Casio Académico, este sistema probado en otros países del mundo ha demostrado que las escuelas que lo aplican han aumentado su rendimiento a nivel nacional, pero sobre todo han potenciado las capacidades de los estudiantes en la ciencia y la tecnología.

Pese a la creencia que existe de que el uso de la calculadora no favorece el buen aprendizaje de las matemáticas, estudios hechos por la empresa demuestran que por el contrario, el uso de las tecnologías favorece al desarrollo de habilidades matemáticas, físicas y químicas más complejas.

Víctor López aclaró que el uso de la calculadora no provoca que se elimine el cálculo mental, “muy por el contrario, se sigue utilizando, pero también se está llevando a esquemas donde la comprobación es acertada, es comprobable y confiable”; puntualizó que en primaria es importante el cálculo mental, es por eso que recomendó el uso de los medios electrónicos para nivel secundaria, donde se refuerzan las bases teóricas.

“Precisamente el esquema, el cual está orientado al uso de las tecnologías para la información y comunicación, donde el alumno ya tiene conocimiento de por qué se opera la suma, cómo se opera la división, cómo se operan estas herramientas básicas de las matemáticas.”

El “Laboratorio de Matemáticas” se integra con instrumentos de procesamiento de cálculo y capacitación docente. En primera etapa se llevará a las secundarias y después a los siguientes niveles, actualmente se ha utilizado en algunas escuelas en la Ciudad de México, pero ahora de forma integral se lanza a Monterrey y Guadalajara, donde los directores de los planteles pueden solicitar esta estrategia que ayudará tanto a los alumnos como docentes de matemáticas en la página www.casioeducacionmexico.com, ahí va a encontrar la información necesaria y el sistema de financiamiento que puedan obtener las Escuelas de Calidad.

La iniciativa surgió al observar los resultados no sólo nacionales sino internacionales que ha tenido el país en matemáticas y ciencias. Recientemente el Foro Económico Mundial colocó a México en el lugar 127 de 133 países en su nivel de educación matemática, datos que alejan la inversión extranjera del país.

El error, a decir del maestro López, está “en cómo se han enseñado las matemáticas, no precisamente en qué se están utilizando, no son las herramientas las que provocan el error, sino la estructura docente que está llevando al error”.

    1)The idea it’s to introduce the new tecnologies to improve Maths, because the level is very bad in some places.
    2) I think that to use new tecnologies motivate more the students, because it’s funnier, and not boring. I prefer to use nem tecnologies

    1) The new idea is improve the level of maths in the high school with a new project, introduce new tecnologies for change this types of maths. This project is possible with a big subvention, and in a public education will pass a lot of time before arrive in the public school.
    2) If this project works better than the other maths I agree, but i don’t think that the maths that we do in Salvador espriu are bad.

    2)Yes, I think that this form we can learn more because the teenagers of today are very happy when they see a pc or some other types of tecnologies.
    3) If you ask me I wnat to say that these opportunities must also be present in all parts of the world including countries as underdeveloped

    1) The new idea is to develop the knowledege of Maths throught the techonology.

    2) For me this way will be better for us because we will be more ineteresting for this thinks and we will be more concentrate. But we will have to do changes between the techonology and the operations with the head because it will be better to do this two things.

    The idea is that in primary, children learn to use mental maths and don’t use calculators. In the secondary they can use because there will be moments that require.
    Well I’m agree because they have reason the level of maths are very bad but the mental maths not only use in primary also in secondary because are important.

    2. I don’t agree much because they say it doesn’t matter if we use the calculator instead of using mental maths. In my opinion, if we only use the calculator, with the pass of the time we’ll forget about how to do operations without the calculator.

    1) The idea is to improve maths in secondary schools using technology, it seems informatic can help you to learn mathematics.

    2) In my opinion technology could helps you because certantly technology is a branch of maths and if you use it learn it can be good for you.
    But I also think that it’s very important mental math and I don’t think using calculator or other technology helping will help you to improve your mental math. Although, maybe, it could be practice to compare and to reson if an operation of two numbers can be the result that appears in your calculator.

    3) I think that if important researches have said that using calculator and technology help students to improve in mathematics it would be useful to try it here, in Spain.

    1) The new idea is to improve the mathematics using the new technologies, creating a new subject where the students using they and could see, how to do it, and practice it.
    2) I think it’s not a bad idea because somethimes we give alot of importance to the theory and we don’t know how to do it yet.
    3) It can be good but before create it, they have to be sure that it will be good if not can make that problem bigger. Because can confuse more to the students

    1) How in the school the maths marks are decreasing, in Japan have an idea to introduce technologies in to learn maths.

    2) I’m not agree with this idea because the important things in maths are proofs that we can do it with reasonings, and with technology we cannot prove things, we can only give the results and they’re not so important . The important thing, as I said, is the method we use and the proofs. And also with technologies, like calculators, we cannot porve operations.

    An inportant company of Japanese tecnology, looks for inserting to our country the project ” Laboratorio de Matemáticas” , because of that the use of new tecnologies favors the learning of pure science.

    I think in some way it’s good, and as a student, I have to say it, but seeing it as a teachers view it’s not very good to get students used to this tecnologies.

    But I think ( even I don’t agree) maths are created to make difficoult and to scroll a test, and if we make thinks very easy, it loses it’s ” grace”.

    Me gustaría saber tu opinión sobre las Apps que resuelven problema matemáticos, si crees que ayudan o por lo contrario son contraproducentes para la enseñanza de las matemáticas.

    Por ejemplo no se si conoces Photomath, que es capaz de resolver problemas matemáticos con la cámara de un teléfono móvil.
