From Nortecastilla.es, by L. LÓPEZ VILLALÓ, 08.10.08.

1) Why can mathematicians be considered as artists?

2) What are the applications of maths in real life? Have they convinced you that maths are important?

Mathematicians can be considered artists, because calculating and resolving problemes, can be beutiful and creative, and isn’t that art ?
Maths, are important, because all is mathematics, Universe is like a loom, and maths are the threads of it. If we represent universe, like a chess, maths are the rules to move the pieces.

I think that mathemathicians can be considerates as artists because Mathas are complex and art is very complex and with Maths we can calculate a lots of things, that yes than is art and magic.

1)Mathematicians are artists because as used for all ,is how a superb invention of something.
I don’t know but for me is original because they have to investigate and in finally they ultimately want.

2)Mathematics is used for everything for example to know the size of a pen, looking to a enrollment of car etc….
I am convinced that mathematics is very important for life because although I do not like much , I know that for my own are good.

    1) Because they also discover and create new ways of doing mathematics, new views and ways of expressing themselves. Not all the artists are painters, also another style of art, mathematical art.

2)In real life we use math a lot because we are in a consumerist system. We are surrounded pricing and this means getting by subtraction, and division sums. Deduct money when we go shopping, while divide and add someone to pay when we give or pay the salary. We are within a mathematical world without giving us account!

They are considered as artist because the calculates, operations proves, … are consirerates sometimes as art, as they are exact and beautiful. And as they are in some way who make maths they are called artists.

In this text reflebxt that we use maths in most of the things of anormal day, we look to lots of numbers and we don’t see them, like, when I look at the numbers of the houses, the floors, the , in arquitesture, license plate, engineering, calendar, day of week, hours… And lots of thing more are in a normal day!!!
Maths are very important for our lives, they are, I think, somethink very useful for our future, because for almost all the jobs you have to know alittle about them. And even we don’t like them we must study them, and in english, that it’s more difficoult!!!!

Mathemticians can be concidered as a artist, because when they do somethig firts, they think about how long is the draw, if there is a cercle …

Maths are very important in our lives, because all that we do, or all that we see are related with maths: the streets are a parallel, the blocs of flat are a rectangle…
They convince me, but not a lot.

    1) Why can mathematicians be considered as artists?
Mathematicians can be regarded as art because it resolves all calculations are exercises in creativity and innovation.

    2) What are the applications of maths in real life? Have they convinced you that maths are important?
The mathematics are used in almost every action of life quotidiana.
The construction of buildings and roads, medicine … and many more activities

  8. Arantzazu Gimeno

    1) Can be considerated as an artist because for mathematics now we can have hoses buildings that are consistents are are well build for mathematics. Because when someone do a house have to do a lot of ooperations, calculs and this things that all are mathemathics.
    2) Yes as I said before the mathematics are and art because are the most important in real life, every thing you see aremethmetics, when you see the builidings, the streets,… in every thing there are some part of mathematics. So you need mathematics for konw more things about mathematics.

  9. Marc Rodríguez Reus

    1) Because the development of the reckoning and the resolution of the operations can be beautiful and nice when they’re exercises of creativity and innovation. I think this is an art, the art of mathematics.

    2) The applications of maths in real life are, for example, for calculate the money you have to pay, if a building is a rectangle or not, for count hours, days, months, years, etc … .
I’m convinced that maths are important because they’re useful for a lot of things, and I think that if maths don’t exist, we couldn’t do most of the things that we can do with them.

  10. Aleix Bonet

    1) because teh maths are necessari for the live and all things that we use every day is necessari maths

    2) In architecture, cientific, in the world of photos.
Yes, I think that the matemathics and maths doesn’t exists all things of the day to day doesn’t exist.

  11. Sergi Baulies

    1) Because sometimes a mathematician problem can be solved of different imaginative ways

    2) Yes, I am convinced that maths are important in our lifes. Almost all the things we use have been designed using maths. The scientifics, engineers, doctors and others use maths as a tool for to do their work

  12. Xavier Augé

    1) Mathematicians can be consider as artists because do formulas, invents about how to calculate and do operations I think that is creative and they open their mind like artists. They’re always thimking innovations of how to do the things ok.

    2) The applications of maths in real life are in some subjects like arquitecture, they’re so useful in it subject, in medicine, to detect all the kinds of illnesses, and there is a new aplication in photography with the maths programmes that are in the cameras.
I think so that maths are also useful to practically all the things because in all the things, when you pay money or measure lenghts, maths appear.

  13. Oriol Carreras Arasa

    1) I think that is because, the problems, equations, operations and so much are very difficult and is more difficult to you invent and is true that mathematicians are artists because you think… How one mathematician invent the algebra?

    2) The maths always we do, for example if you want you buy a shirt with a 33% discount, you have to calculated to not be trick. Therefore we say that maths are always on our side.
