Mi profesor me gritaba: ¡Desdichado! ¡No sabes matemáticas! ¡No sabrás nunca matemáticas!
Yo me limité a responder: -Viejo, no.
1) What is your conclusion about Pepe Ruipérez´s experience?
2) Has something similar ever happened to you in class?
I think taht this new is a little a jocke so the person explain how he see the math and is like the visual representation of the operations.
The problem of this person is that his theacher intent that the math is like the live that if you don’t know all the thinks that he explains you died ind this is a big error. Because you help that this boy/girl hate more the maht.
I think that this men, is a little estrange. To imaginate numbers with a especial face, a man removing water from a well and a dentist jerking to a tooth, you have to be estrange. Maths aren’t animated numbers!!!
Maths are maths. Of course that you can imaginate things to understand something, for example, when my guitar teacher explain me a sequences of notes, I try to remember some songs that I do another year to do better. I also thing that if you don’t know maths, you don’t die for don’t know it. Maths are necessary, but they aren’t the only thing in the world.
I thing that in my class we do some jokes like Pepe Ruipérez say, but now we didn’t do it much.
I agree in most of Pepe’s Ruipérez arguments. The only important thing in life is being happy, being with no problems or bad situations. Math is just an imaginary concept that we learn, as many other things, to get through our lifes without any strumbles just to reach what we are all looking for: happiness. Maybe for a person be happy is having a family, children, a job and no complications, but maybe for another is living alone and don’t do anything all day. Maybe in your concept of happiness you’ll need math, maybe not. Pepe Ruipérez doesn’t need them, and that’s why he thinks they’re not useful and imagines math as real things in life (the man in the well, the dentist…). It all depends on the person.
Guillermo
Pepe Ruipérez is a very imaginative to think about numbers with masks, etc… I agree that being happy is the most important thing in life, is better without problems.
Sometimes you get a mess and trying to find the solution but not sure how. Imagine things in a different way, you’re looking for another way to phrase mathematics, sometimes even more complicated. But I still have not come to imagine the look that should have numbers inside my head.
1) I think that this man has a lot of imagination. In my life, I never think how are maths, if it’s a number with a face, etc. Maths is another concept that we learn in our life, but we have other concepts and probably concepts that are more important. Of course maths are important, but there are other things. I’m agree with Pepe Ruipérez in one thing, we have to be happy.
2) In class we do some jokes, but not much. We don’t seem like Pepe.
1) I think that Pepe Ruipérez has a lot of imagination ..becausee equal than Marc I can’t imagine numbers whith legs, arms and face…
2)I thing that in class sometimes we do jokes but the class is not a mess the class is hard because the rhythm is fast and complicated.
What is your conclusion about Pepe Ruipérez´s experience?
I think that is man it’s alittle bit crazy, for the things he arrives to imagine with a simple angle, or a number squared. I don’t know who this man is, but nowdays, is he a mathematician or something like that? Because he thinks like one of them.
Altough, he is very intelligent, and he knows “i think ” what those thinks are, he is like those people that it’s always in the moon, a little bit rare, definitely he is different.
Has something similar ever happened to you in class?
No, I always try to understant thinks like they are, because if not I wouldn’t understand nothing. But sometimes when you don’t understand hard thing and you imagine them in a funny way you enjoy learning them. That’s a good idea for that the things, rules and all that, enters in your mind quickly and in a easy way.
i think we could do it in clas. 😀
I think that he has imagination. I never imagine that one person can think like this!! I think that it’s funny study maths with imagination.
In class we do some jokes. W don’t seem like Pepe
Do you want my personal idea about this?…..
I think that better no… because if i have tu talk about this imagination person.
Better i answer the questions: mmmmm..
The first i have said
And the second…. I think that i have never seen a very very very very .. etc silly person… or.. it have an a silly imagination jojojo xD .
I’m Boring…. and my boring is not solucioned to coment a new of maths jajajaj
GoodBye
I agree with many of the opinions that Pepe Ruipérez have about the life.
Because I think that to be a good life, is not important know much about mathematics or history, if not intend be very happy.
Thanks to the great imagination of Pepe sure him life will be more fun.
The truth is I’ve never spent anything like that in class, because I have a good imagination, but I think if you put imagination to difficult problems are easier to solve.
a)
I think that Pepe Ruipérez’s experience is a very good experience because are a inteligent person to think this things about maths, because I think the same of Pepe Ruipérez.
b) No, I think that in class are normal.
1 )Ruiperez I think Pepe is a very funny person with a good sense of humor. He wants to be happy in life and now is old, sure he has achieved in his life.
He never liked mathematics, but you can love someone else.
I would like to have the imagination of Pepe , because it would be easier to study and learn lessons and situations to solve problems.
2) Sometimes when I’m studying , I think funny words , what help me to study and memorize more.
a) I agree with this comment because he thinks that mathematics is useless for anything but things just imagine and realize that mathematics is very imported to life because they could not do anything without them.
b) I think that in class all is normal and never I think the primes numbers with silly face.
1) I think that Pepe is right. All the people is always talking about how important are maths in life and maybe it’s true but, at te moment we can only see them as another subject at school. I think that we haven’t noticed the real essence of maths yet, the beauty that Carlota has already found.
2)Nothing similar happened to me in class but sometimes I imagine actions or abstract things with colors or pictures. The days of the week, the months, etc..
1) Ruipérez Pepe is a man who studies mathematics in a fun way and I think that once we could apply this way to understand mathematics because now we see it only as a subject to be studied.
2)No, In class I try to understand the things as they are because otherwise it would seem even more difficult. I don’t have a lot of imagination.
1) My conclusion about Pepe Ruipérez’s experience is that the maths are useful in the life and are important, but they aren’t all of the life because there are a lot of things that are in the life and one of the most important is be happy and sometimes crazy like Pepe says in the new.
2) In my class happens things like jokes and things that we can be happy and we can smile like Pepe says because that’s important.
I think that new is very interesting, because Pepe, says things that perhaps it happens to other people, and when you read some article you’re proud of you when you feel identify with it.
For example, I think that to be happy with what you have, is a thing that no everybody can make, I think that to be always with a smile in your face has the same importance and has the same difficult, or more than maths (without taking the importance of maths). I have to say that olso, if you don’t know what is 2+2, you really have a big problem.
About the things that he said, about the things that he imagine when the teacher said a number squared, i thing he wasn’t crazy, and if was him i will take his imagination to understand math. To understand it as a story.
I don’t know if it happens the same to other people, but when I was 8, and the teacher teach us the vowels, I though:
The strong is those that has got like stomach “a, e, o”
And the thin, are those that hasn’t got stomach “i, u”
