English Tea Time

Hilary Sugai came once again from Cambridge and this time she displayed her Tea Time workshop in a very cosy atmosphere at the EOI Ripoll.

She delighted us with the History of English Tea Time and students had a go in her tea time quiz – the winners Maria Colomer and Josep Martínez had their prize, but no one left without enjoying a lovely cream tea and scones!

Thank you all for coming!

Portrait Workshop by David Adamson

Here you are some words by David Adamson about the workshop:

Thanks to all of you who came to the Portrait Workshop. I wanted to share some of the results with you.

Below, you will see some of the photos taken by students during the session. I’m sure you will notice the difference between the four images and the lighting used. Here is a reminder

  1. First portrait. One light used. The result is a dark red background and no light on the hair. Little depth.
  2. Other portraits show our three-light setup.  The result is a bright background and some light on the hair which helps to separate the subject from the background and give more depth
  3. If there are any questions please email me and I will try to help.

death-at-a-funeral.jpg

The film will be showed at EOI Ripoll on Wednesday, 3rd December and Thursday, 4th December (5pm-7pm and 7pm-9pm) Everyone is free to come and enjoy it!

‘Death at a Funeral’ follows the comic twists and turns of a dysfunctional British family as they gather to mourn the passing of their patriarch. It’s the day of his father’s funeral and Daniel wants everything to go according to plan but his brother is only interested in chatting up a pretty girl at the service; his cousin’s straight-laced boyfriend is convinced that someone is alive in the coffin, and a rogue bottle of hallucinogenic pills keeps popping up. If that isn’t enough, a mysterious visitor from his father’s past threatens to expose the patriarch’s secret unless he is paid a princely sum.

It is up to Daniel to do everything he can to make sure the service goes off without a hitch by holding his oddball family in-line, keeping his father’s secret from leaking to the guests, and finding the darn bottle of pills. ‘Death at a Funeral’ is the riotous tale of one man’s struggle to maintain his dignity while swimming in a sea of calamity.

The film stars Matthew Macfadyen (Pride & Prejudice), Peter Dinklage (The Station Agent, Elf), Alan Tudyk (Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story),Ewen Bremner (Trainspotting, Match Point), and Rupert Graves (V for Vendetta), and is directed by Frank Oz (Bowfinger, In & Out).
