Que tranquil·letas que s’estan las portades dels diaris des de que guanyà Mas! Com s’explica això? Goita’m: quin poti-poti el tripartit! N´hi ha moltes raons: a la Catalunya central, una; a la costa, d’altri i totes ben diferents.

Avui El Periódico parla de “lideratge indiscutit” del nou President, d’impecable traspàs de poders, de sintonia amb Duran i Lleida d’Unió, de la traïció de Mascarell al PSC – m’ho he de mirar, perquè Déu n’hi do-.

Em fa un mica de pena que marxi Montilla: us enrecordeu d’això de “Crec a Catalunya, Nació lliure i orgullosa…”. Però, el primer cop que sentí Els Segadors  fou a un míting de Mas, a Vic. Encara me’n recordo. A veure que fa aquest, una altre més a posar la mà potser.

No obstant la meva manca de cultura finançera, esbrino que aquesta investidura feta d’aquesta manera (com cal, ben feta) estabilitzarà o calmarà els mercats. Vull dir, és un fet d’aquests que restableixen la confiança.

Aquesta singladura la gaudirem tots plegats perquè tots plegats som la mateixa energia. Benvingut President i sort!

Is self-determination an everybody´s right to withdraw their country,  to secede? If we accept that possibility, the world-wide political panorama might turn unstable.

Self-determination is the right of nations to decide on its own statality. It does not allow a little group of people to create its own country. Quite opposite, self-determination operates when a minority asks to recover the political organization it had before. The essential requirement for the new nation would be the cultural singularity of the community. As an example, I will mention Ukraine.

Historically, self-determination has been enforced by the main political powers to areas previously identified. Self-determination was conceived as a punishment after the world war in 1918 and nazi imperialism in 1945. It was the means to carry out decolonization process, also.

Does Catalunya need the independence? What does “autodeterminació” mean and how useful is State theory to explain this subject?
As a Law student, I’ll try to get information from books in order to shed light to these points.
