Talking about the past

OK, kids. First let’s do some revision and practice.

GAME

http://www.manythings.org/hmf/hm-verb.html

Let’s practise some writing. This is a simple game but you are playing against the timer.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/skillswise/game/en29punc-game-put-text-into-sentences

This is quite difficult. Wanna try?

If you need, here you will find a lot of activities for extra practice.

Treball de síntesi

You have to carry out two activities in your Treball de Síntesi. One of them is to write about one of your outings. In order to practise a bit  before you actually write it, I have found these pictures.

ACTIVITY: Look at the following pictures. Imaging these are pictures of your visit. Describe what you did.

Baetulo, Roman City

Devil's burning

What about this great celebration? What do you know? What can you do?

Food: countable and uncountable nouns

Let’s start: are the following nouns countable or uncountable

Countable and Uncountable Nouns , by grazdub@onet.eu
Find this and other countables – uncountables exercises in English Exercises .org

More practice

http://www.autoenglish.org/basic/gr.count.i.htm

Now click on the different parts of the pyramid and learn about food groups

A challenge: do you dare? Write all the letters of the alphabet and write the name of food for each letter. Find a photo so you can remember the word better.

Describing a friend

You have to write about your best friend for homework. Remember in class we read this description?

A good friend

My cousin’s name is Darren. He’s fourteen and he lives near me in Darlington.

Darren is a good friend. I like him because he’s funny. We sometimes disagree – he likes

hip hop, but I hate it.

I often go to Darren’s house. We sometimes watch TV together. I like going to the sports centre

with him. We play basketball and tennis.

(English Alive 1)

Here is another description:

My best friend’s name’s Maureen. She’s from Glasgow, in Scotland. She’s 14 years old and her birthday is in January. She’s not very tall. She’s got brown hair and blue eyes. She’s got two brothers but she hasn’t got a sister. Her brothers are ten and five years old. At home she has got a dog called Max.

Her favourite hobbies are going to the cinema with her friends and listening to music. Her favourite film is Starsky and Hutch, probably because Owen Wilson is her favourite actor. She’s is not very interested in football or other sports.

Now write about your best friend. If you have already done, try to improve your composition. You may create and include an avatar for your friend. Go to the following site:

http://avatarmaker.abi-station.com/index_en.shtml

See? This is my avatar.

When you have finished with your composition, please do this reading activities. Write you score under your composition.
