The Joy of Dancing

Let’s forget this is an English teaching blog for a while. This video from Matt Harding shows us the plain truth: The world is full of good people who are always ready to start dancing when they hear the simple beating of a rythm. Dance is in our souls, and when we take out our inner child and start moving, jumping and swinging to the rythm of music, we take the best of ourselves. This is just a tribute from a simple language teacher, to all those teachers of the most important language across boundaries: Dance

How do you feel after watching this video? Do you feel like dancing? Just do it!!!!

How many cities has Matt visited? Guess what language is used in the majority of them Fer l'ullet

HALLOWEEN

images1.jpg

Do you want to know the origins and history of this special day? I worked a bit on that in class with some of you, but it deserves more time. Read the articles first and then watch the videos to understand them better. I think it is very interesting!!! The first video is a bit long and would be more apropriate for the students of 2nd batxillerat, but everydoby is invited! HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!! Sorprès

IRREGULAR verbs list

images1.jpg

Here you have the list I promised. You will see 5 columns instead of 3, which I think is better for you to avoid confusion with other tenses (gerund, present simple).

Student of 3rd ESO: you can fill in the gaps of the list you have in Workbook page 127, but you still have to look up the meaning in the dictionary for the exam we will do soon!

Students 2n Batx: it will be good for you as well to revise, although I know many of you already know it, don’t you?

PAST- simple, continuous, perfect

Here you have a song to practice the 3 past tenses we have revised today in class. I’m sorry I didn’t find a song by Columbus, I think he was too busy sailing the sea…Fer l'ullet

You have to fill in the gaps with the correct verb form meanwhile you watch the video. Ask me for the solutions next week!

Did I disappoint you, or let you down?

Should I be feeling guilty, or let the judges frown?

‘Cause I …………….(1-see) the end before we’d begun,

Yes I …………….(2-see) you …………….(3-blind)

And I …………….(4-know) I …………….(5-win).

<>()<>

So I …………….(6-take) what’s mine by eternal right.

…………….(7-Take) your soul out into the night.

It may be over but it won’t stop there,

I am here for you if you’d only care.

<>()<>

You …………….(8-touch) my heart you …………….(9-touch) my soul.

You …………….(10-change) my life and all my goals.

And love is blind and that I …………….(11-know) when

My heart …………….(12-blind) by you.

<>()<>

I’ …………….(13-kiss) your lips and …………….(14-hold) your head.

…………….(15-Share) your dreams and …………….(16-share) your bed.

I know you well, I know your smell.

I …………….(17-be) addicted to you.

<>()<>

Goodbye my lover.

Goodbye my friend.

You …………….(18-be) the one.

You …………….(19-be) the one for me.

<>()<>

I am a dreamer but when I wake,

You can’t break my spirit – it’s my dreams you take.

And as you move on, remember me,

Remember us and all we …………….(20-use) to be

<>()<>

I …………….(21-see) you cry, I …………….(22-see) you smile.

I …………….(23-watch) you sleeping for a while.

I’d be the father of your child.

I’d spend a lifetime with you.

<>()<>

I know your fears and you know mine.

We …………….(24-have) our doubts but now we’re fine,

And I love you, I swear that’s true.

I cannot live without you.

<>()<>

Goodbye my lover.

Goodbye my friend.

You …………….(25-be) the one.

You …………….(26-be) the one for me.

<>()<>

And I still hold your hand in mine.

In mine when I’m asleep.

And I will bare my soul in time,

When I’m kneeling at your feet.

<>()<>

Goodbye my lover.

Goodbye my friend.

You …………….(27-be) the one.

You …………….(28-be) the one for me.

<>()<>

I’m so hollow, baby, I’m so hollow.

I’m so, I’m so, I’m so hollow
