Ain’t no mountain high enough

As I promised you, here are the lyrics to the song featured in Sister Act 2 final credits. I have also posted the original version, featured in other films you may have seen.

Listen, baby
Ain’t no mountain high
Ain’t no vally low
Ain’t no river wide enough, baby

If you need me, call me
No matter where you are
No matter how far
Just call my name
I’ll be there in a hurry
You don’t have to worry

‘Cause baby,
There ain’t no mountain high enough
Ain’t no valley low enough
Ain’t no river wide enough
To keep me from getting to you

Remember the day
I set you free
I told you
You could always count on me
From that day on I made a vow
I’ll be there when you want me
Some way,some how

‘Cause baby,
There ain’t no mountain high enough
Ain’t no valley low enough
Ain’t no river wide enough
To keep me from getting to you

No wind, no rain

My love is alive
Way down in my heart
Although we are miles apart
If you ever need a helping hand
I’ll be there on the double
As fast as I can

Don’t you know that
There ain’t no mountain high enough
Ain’t no valley low enough
Ain’t no river wide enough
To keep me from getting to you

Don’t you know that
There ain’t no mountain high enough
Ain’t no valley low enough
Ain’t no river wide enough

Now, the version by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell (1967)

Note that “Ain’t” is a colloquial form to say “It isn’t” or ” There isn’t”.
Probably you can notice some changes in the lyrics of the two versions.

I FEEL GOOD

James Brown was a revolutionary musician and singer. He started his career in the 1960’s. He had a life full of scandals. He died in 2007. He made funk music very popular.

Look at the way he dances and moves his feet. Can you stay sit? Start dancing.

Sorry for the quality of the images. It’s a very old video.

I feel good

Whoa-oa-oa! I feel good, I knew that I would, now
I feel good, I knew that I would, now
So good, so good, I got you

Whoa! I feel nice, like sugar and spice
I feel nice, like sugar and spice
So nice, so nice, I got you

(sax)

When I hold you in my arms
I know that I can’t do no wrong
and when I hold you in my arms
My love won’t do you no harm

and I feel nice, like sugar and spice
I feel nice, like sugar and spice
So nice, so nice, I got you

(sax)

When I hold you in my arms
I know that I can’t do no wrong
and when I hold you in my arms
My love can’t do me no harm

and I feel nice, like sugar and spice
I feel nice, like sugar and spice
So nice, so nice, well I got you

Whoa! I feel good, I knew that I would, now
I feel good, I knew that I would
So good, so good, ’cause I got you
So good, so good, ’cause I got you
So good, so good, ’cause I got you
