Companyes i companys,

Integrated language learning
Primary schools situated in the border region between France and Germany have already carried out various activities that are based on virtual and real meetings in the last years. The aim is to give every child the chance to learn a foreign language. The language acquisition process is based on motivation through learning with all senses. All the activities are linked to the school development plan.

Intercultural learning
In the border area between the Czech Republic and Germany two schools cooperate on a whole school level. They share the same pedagogical values and try to approach each other’s curricula in the subjects taught. Language learning to enforce the intercultural experience is one of the main aims. In this process all the school as well as people from outside the school are involved. Head teachers, mayors, parents and, of course, most important of all, the students are in regular contact with each other.
Our Dutch friends
In 2003 the Spanish students of IES el Calamot in Spain, divided in groups, wrote e-mails and asked the Spring Day team from Hilversum in the Netherlands about their country. After they answered, the Spanish learners compared what they had learned from their exchange of information with their Spanish reality.

Towns as a Microcosmos
Students in Upper Secondary School in Decin (Czech Republic) and Fredrika Bremergymnasiet in Haninge (Sweden) wrote a book together about their towns and lives in the perspective of the enlargement of the EU in May 2004. The Czech students decided to write about Stockholm and their mutual interests, such as music and sports. The Swedish students, on the other hand, had to choose a subject according to their curriculum.
