Thermal energy is the energy of the atoms or moleculas in matter as they move or vibrate in fixed positions. It is released as head
Mechanical energy is the energy produced by things in motion(kinetic energy) or because they move of its original position.
Chemical energy is the energy stored in bonds between atoms. Is released or absorbed in chemical reactions. In our bodies is the food we eat.
Electromagnetic energy is the energy that is transported by electromagnetic waves, such as light or television.
Electrical energy is the energy produced by an electric current.
Nuclear energy is the energy released in the process of nuclear fission and fusion. We can find it in nuclear power plants.
I thing that this energies are very important in our live because without energy is very difficult to live. If there aren’t these energies we cannot keep warm or we haven’t got light. We can’t watch TV or listen to radio too. So energy is in everything and it’s very important.

In this project all groups have a type of energy and we have to convince people of Lleida that our energy is the best. So we used the tool Fakebook where we have posted several articles on our profile saying that our type of energy is better than another and for what reason it is.

A l’escola han portat un gran planetari i durant l’hora de projectes, en grups de 8 o 9 alumnes, hem anat a veure’l.
Tenia forma de cúpula amb una estreta obertura a través de la qual podíem entrar i observar unes imatges increïbles sobre l’univers projectades al sostre i als costats de l’espai on estàvem tombats.
El fet de tombar-nos i observar les imatges de la cúpula des del terra afavoria que ens sentíssim com si en aquell moment estiguéssim sota un cel estrellat.
Ha donat molta informació sobre 3 temes que ens han cridat molt la atenció. Un era les constel•lacions i la vista nocturna de l’espai observat des del Terra en els mesos d’hivern; un altre parlava sobre l’estrella polar i la seva posició al cel; i per últim també parlava sobre les estacions, donant resposta a moltes preguntes que ens fèiem sobre elles com: Perquè s’originen?

M’ha encantat l’experiència!!!!.

Some weeks ago we played the game “four corners” to understand the non-renewables energies, the rules are very simple: first we had to choose a representative of each group. There were two points in class: I AGREE and I DON’T AGREE. Montse said some phrases and if we agreed we had to go to the first point and if we don’t agree to the other. The game was very exciting and we could understand at the perfection what are the non-renewable energies. Also we watched a video to answer the little questions that we have in our hand-outs. Now we are experts of non-renewable energies.

Yesterday 17 of March we did an activity of global warming.
Teacher Oriol gave a number to each member of the group. Then, we met all number 1 together, number 2 together, etc. Also he gave a piece of paper with the information about one possible problem caused by global warming. After 5 minutes, we went back to our initial groups and we had to explain our information to the other members. Finally, in our groups we had to answer the questions in the hand-out.
The texts that we had to memorise were:
– Acid rain: destroy plants and trees. And even damage buildings.
– Toxic waste: water or earth and can be dangerous to people’s health.
– Rising seas: it could cause the coast of some countries to go underwater.
– Extreme heat waves: sometimes people die because it is too hot.
In my opinion I like these activities because is easy to memorise a text that we have to learn.

MARIA FRANCO

We have started a new project this term: sustainable energy for everybody. Before this project, we were working on “missió univers”, but now we’re doing a new project in english. Sustainable energy for everybody is about types of energy, renewable energy…etc. And the final product is making a fakebook page that explains a type of energy (every group has chosen one before). It looks very interesting; I can’t wait to see what I can learn!

El producte final d’aquest projecte era fer un reportatge sobre l’espai. Quina feinada! Però ens n’hem sortit bé i només amb un parell de setmanes. Tots els grups vam escriure un guió i vam gravar-ho tot al croma. Els reportatges ens va quedar molt bé, com professionals! Cada reportatge tracta sobre un tema i tots són molt divertits. A més a més, fent-los ens ho hem passat genial. Ha estat una gran experiència aprendre fent un reportatge!

In this project we did an exam, It wasn’t difficult because we already know a lot of things about the theme. Before the exams, our project teachers gave us a remember that is a short dossier with the important information that we need for the exam. We have a Check list with the things that we should know so we can check ourselves. In our exams we have to know all the things that are in the remember, but we don’t have to study a lot because we learn a lot in class. The first exam was about types of energies. We had to distinguish between primary and secondary energy sources and between renewable and non-renewable energies. It was very easy.

El big bang va ser una gran explosió, amb la qual es va formar tot l’univers i tot el que existeix. La majoria dels astrònoms estan convençuts que l’origen de l’univers es remunta a una distància temporal que aniria entre 13.500 i 15.000 milions d’anys.

L’any 1920 es va descobrir que l’univers estava en expansió, és a dir, que les galàxies s’estan separant entre si. Si els componenets de l’univers s’estan separant això vol dir que en el passat estaven més junts. Retrocedint en el temps, podem arribar a esbrinar que l’univers estava concentrat en un punt diminut i que tot va sortir d’una bola de foc i és el que anomenem big bang.

Hi ha dues teories sobre el futur de l’univers:

• Un gran cruixit (big crunch). Pot ser que d’aquí bilions d’anys, l’univers deixi d’expandir-se i comenci a caure cap endins, de manera que torni a ser un punt infinitament calent i petit com era al principi.

• Continuï expandint-se fins arribar a un univers sense fi.
