The Romans invented a lot of things and some of them are still used today.
They spoke Latin, a language of which many of our current languages come from like Catalan, Spanish, French… Latin is no longer spoken, now is considered a dead language.
They also created the Christianity, one of the most followed religions in the world. At the begining, Romans had many gods, but later Jesus began to have followers. Some of them were killed, but in the end, Christianity became the official religion in Rome.
They also invented the arch and materials such as cement and bricks. They also built many bridges and roads and the first public water system with aqueducts and sawage.
Romans had laws too. Some of their laws are still used today; laws are rights and obligations that we have to obey.
Romans conquered many cities, like Tarraco (Tarragona) and Barcino (Barcelona).
They had a calendar, too. At the begining it had nine months and later twelve months.
