Cau del Duc
It’s a karst cave in the southern slope of Montanyes de Santa Caterina, in Montgrí. There are different ways to get there, because the austerity of this mountainside limits the growth of vegetation, but the more accessible comes from the crossing of Santa Catalina de la Cruz, followed by “flat rocks”. There is a large opening to the south side that is visible from the town of Torroella de Montgrí, a few metres below the summit. The roof has a few metres and the ground makes a slight slope outwards. It is a rock shelter that was occupied by hominids during the Paleolithic. Inside the cave the Montgrí top was found.
