La Torre school has developed a project to help our students to achieve knowledge using English. Because we know how important it is to speak English today.
Activities spread all over Primary school years (ages 6-12), starting in the 1st Cycle (cicle inicial) with a number of activities such as the English Hour (an extra English hour every week), Halloween and Christmas Workshops, the English Fun Week or an Autumn Camp last October.
In the 2n Cycle (cicle mitjà), we learn English by creating art. We start working with different tools and different creative processes and in the way we improve our communication skills in English.
In the 3rd Cycle (cicle superior) and for a couple of years now, we have been teaching Science; Ecosystems, Volcanoes, The Forest, History, etc. in English. Our main goal is that the students grasp the information so that in the end they can explain it in their own words. Step by step students reach knowledge and they find words to convey it.
It’s hard work but we are ready to face it. It is a great challenge; it’s the English Challenge.
