Cristina Arnau’s Podcast

At the moment, we are doing a course all the Comenius Coordinators in Barcelona. It is very interesting because we are sharing our experiences.

On the 23rd September, we did the first session. There we met the other participants and I met one teacher from Artés (Rosa) who is also doing a bilateral project and Alba from Prats who is doing a Multilateral project. It is lovely to share experiences with others.

Today, Tuesday 10th November, we went to the course again. First of all, Neus Lorenzo came and introduced our session today. Then, we shared some grids for our projects and at then end we talked about general problems at the beginning.

Gunilla (the teacher from Sweden) and some students came to Berga from 26th October to 6th November 2009 because we were doing an exchange with some students of 4th ESO. We are doing exchange with Gunilla for a long time. Here you can see them:

Today is Thrusday and the swedish students from the exchange 2009 left, you can see our experience here: http://swedenexchange2009.blogspot.com

Things are not easy. We did a meeting to see if the teachers wanted to travel to Sweden on June and only two teachers came. It was horrible!! I felt really bad, the Master didn’t even come. Lovely!!! I did not want to go on coordinating. I felt people only help, someone who is nicer than me. I don’t know what happened but it was horrible.

Later I had to send the list of teacher who would be helping me and who would be travelling (before 30th October).

Anyway, life is hard whenever you coordinate something. That is why I think this is a foogy path.

On 2nd of December I went to Caixa Forum ” Valorització del Comenius”, there they explain us some important facts about education. At the end they gave us a “PLACA” as we were COMENIUS.

I was very happy because I met Roser Pujadas again. Roser is now working in education, but she worked with me in Granollers (Celestí Bellera). Nice to see her again.

Luckily, Rosa Galiana was with me too. She is also a coordinators in IES from Artès. And she gave me the idea to write about our experience as a coordinator. Thanks Rosa… And as I always say, it is lovely to talk to other people who live the same experience as me.

At the end of August, we knew that a Comenius was accepted. However, at the end of September, Victor told us he did not want to be the coordinator. He thought I could be the coordinator.

I was not sure, I had other objectives during my life. However, I accepted because I was the one who had not children in the foreign language department.

Thus, as we say in Catalan “em vaig tirar de cap a la piscina” and here I am!!! But I think I am quite confused!! I accepted a Comenius with a teacher I had never worked with before, and I was not positive at all!!!

On 23rd September 2009 I went to meeting in Barcelona. There I meet some other schools who were participating in a Comenius and who were also coordinators. I meet Rosa from Artés and Alba from Prats. They cheer me up a lot. It is nice and lovely to talk to others who are experiencing the same I was experiencing.

However, I was not sure at all. I did not choose to be a coordinator. “I si ja és difícil ser coordinador quan tu no ho vols ser, imagina’t quan et quan un càrrec i una feinada així”. Moreover, my idea was to finish my doctorate. However, when I talked to my teacher from the university, she told me it was not possible, it was everything too quick and she did not like the ideas. Thus, my objectives finished again and I fell ” en un pou sense sortida”. I mean, all my educational aims were flying away and I was very sad!!!

I could not find my way.

On the 7th-8th October, we had to go to Madrid but I was very pessimistic and I did not go!!!

Where was my way? I didn’t really know!!!
