Never, never, never in my life I will do it again. Why? Direction has been treating me very bad, they told me to take me out of the coordination, they even told me to me out of the project and even she did not want me to receive a certification this year. I don’t want to think about that anymore.
The Swedish students came to Berga from 19 to 29th October. Everything went OK. They had a really good time. Students did many activities together. Here you can read a little bit more about the project.
At the beginning of the course 2009-2010, we started our project Boundless Communication and the teachers from Sweden and Catalonia met online every week in order to lead the project. We decided the activities and how to do them in the class. Then, in the English classes in INS Guillem de Berguedà and in the Spanish classes in Ellen Keyskolan, we consecrated one hour a week to the project. The results have been extraordinary since the students have worked alone, in groups using new technologies and they have created: a personal blog (their presentations, videos, etc.), an online recipe book from Sweden and Catalonia, created a song, an online dictionary of Catalan, Swedish, English, Spanish, some online magazines comparing the two countries: Catalonia and Spain. Once in Västervik and in Berga, they shared their experience in a diary blog, they prepared and performed a short performace explaining the Comenius Activities. In Berga, they also prepared a lipdub where all the school participated.
Now, the Catalan students are going to explain their experience in Västervik (Sweden) from 8th to 20th June 2010.
We are going to talk about our experience in Västervik (Sweden) from 8th to 20th June 2010. Thirty-two students of 3rd of ESO from INS Guillem de Berguedà travelled to Sweden to a little village called Västervik. We lived with a Swedish student and his/her family.
When we arrived, we were very nervous, and nobody wanted to be alone with his/her Swedish family, but at the end of the trip nearly most of the people wanted to stay in Västervik for more days. During these days we have done different activities and visits. We have been to Gamleby, Kalmar, Hässelo and Stockholm. Moreover, we have attended some classes in their high school and we have worked together a lot doing our Comenius project. Finally, we presented our project in front of the parents and authorities. Apart from all the activities organized by our Comenius’ teachers, we have done more activities with our Swedish friends like swimming in the beach, eating all together, watching a movie, playing some sports or games, going bowling or karting, and so on.
We spent the last two days in Stockholm and we did some sightseeing around the city, we visited the Vassamuseum and we even attended the wedding of Princess Victoria and Daniel!
There are a lot of differences between our school and the Swedish High School. Our school is smaller than the Swedish school and the organization of the Swedish school is also very different from ours. We also found many differences between the Swedish families and our families. In Sweden they live in very big houses and we live in little houses or flats. The timetables are very different too.
We think that this experience has been amazing and unforgettable. We hope that one day we will return to this beautiful country.
In conclusion, our English has improved a lot in this exchanging experience, above all the speaking skill because we have spoken English all the days with our families and Swedish friends. It has been amazing because we met a lot of friends. We will never forget this experience because it has been wonderful and perfect.
Now, the Swedish students are going to explain their experience in Berga (Catalonia- Spain) from 19th to 29th
When we first had decided that we wanted to be a part of the Comenius, it was then all the hard work started. We had to do a lot of work, both in and out of school. But we knew that it was going to be worth it. I think that the assignments were difficult, but at the same time we learnt a lot. When the Catalan students came in Västervik, we did a lot of fun stuff. The experience of when the Catalan students were here was incredible, it’s not usual that you have the opportunity to meet other persons from a different country, who speak a different language and have other routines.
When we came to Spain, the first moment when we walked down the pair of stairs from the airplane and the sun hit our faces, we thought that this was going to be the most wonderful experience of their lives. And I think that it might has been just that, because it has been such a good and funny and learning time in Spain and through all the time that we have been working with this project. In Spain we have done a lot of things, for one example we went to Barcelona for one day and it was amazing. I thought that Berga was much different from Västervik, and it is, but Barcelona is even more different. It’s a hole other experience to visit a small town than a big city, but to be in a big city is much more difficult, because there’s so much more going on there and to keep track of 33 young students there must be so much harder. It’s hard to explain how you feel about the whole Comenius. But one thing that I can be sure of is that I will remember this experience for the rest of my life.
