It is from Europe and North America.

It is a deciduous tree.

It has a  spreading crown.

The leaves are arranged in opposite pairs,  10-30cm.  The leaves are pinnately compound. They have an elliptical shape and the margins are serrate or toothed.

When it is young, the bark is grey and it changes the colour when it gets old.

The fruit is glossy dark purple berry.

It is 6 m tall.

It is used for creating  medicines and in the cuisine for making elderberry jam.

COMMON NAME:  MIMOSA

SCIENTIFIC NAME: Acacia Dealbata

CATALAN NAME: MIMOSA

 

It is from Australia.

It is an evergreen tree.

It has  a full-crowned crown.

The leaves are bipinnate  and blue green to silvery grey.

The  flower of Mimosa (Acacia Dealbata)  is made of numerous smaller  bright  yellow flowers.

The fruit is a flattened pod from 2 -11,5 cm long and 6 -14 mm broad, has several seeds.

It can grow up to 30m. It lives from 30-40 years.

It is useful for making furniture. The seeds can be used for making flour. The essence of   mimosa flowers is used for perfumes.

It is native to  Indomalaya and Australasia.

It is a decidious tree.

The leaves are up 50 cm and the are very thin.

The trunk is thick.

The fruit is highly toxic.

It can grow up to 45 m.

It has medicinal uses.

POMEGRANATE-TREE

The pomegranate is in our orchard.

It’s the third tree on the third row.

The botanical name is Punica Granatum.

The pomegranate – tree is original from Iran and Northern of India.

The pomegranate tree is deciduous.

The crown looks like a vase.

The leaf is simple and entire and has palmate veins.

It has rough trunk and smooth branches.

The pomegranate fruit has two parts: a hard outer, and an inner, spongy, which comprises the fruit that contains seeds inside.

ORANGE TREE

The botanical name is Citrus simensis.

The Orange tree is original from Brazil.

It’s a deciduous tree.

Its crown looks full crowned.

The leaves are simple and entire or smooth and they have pinnate veins.

The orange flowers are white. The fruits are oranges. We like them and also the orange juice for breakfast.

The orange tree isn’t too tall. It’s medium size.

The orange tree is our favourite fruit tree.

The orange tree has medicinal properties:

  • Leaves in infusion to sleep better.
  • Six orange flowers in an infusion of 3 minutes for stomachache.
  • The orange peel as a way to reduce the cholesterol.
  • As a source of vitamin C reduces the cold ache duration.

HOLM-OAK

The English name is Holm oak.

Holm oak is an evergreen tree native to the Mediterranean region.

Holm oak is also known as ‘holly oak’

A Holm oak can grow to 20m and develop a huge, rounded crown.

The botanical name is QUERCUS FLEX.

The fruits are called catkins, and yellow male catkins can be seen to hang off the tree in abundance in early spring.

The Holm oak leaf is double serrated and has pinnate veins.

After pollination by wind, female flowers develop into acorns fruits
