1. Find and label print ads illustrating at least five (5) common advertising techniques. You can do it in pairs. Send me the links and explanations.
2. Write and produce a commercial or create a print ad using one or more of the techniques you have learned. Your product may be real or imaginary.
If you choose to produce a commercial, you may work in a group of up to 4 people. Your script should be complete with stage directions and dialogue. You may check out a video camera after your script is completed. Your finished project will be presented to the class.
Should you choose to create a print ad, you will be working in pairs (2).
3. Tell which techniques you used at the end of your script or on the back of your ad. Be prepared to explain to the class your choices.
Choose a Nobel Peace Laureate and make a presentation on them. Focus on bio data, achievements, prize motivation, some highlights on their Nobel lecture, world reception on the prize…
Do not copy paste from the Internet. Use your own words.
Try searching for information on different sites. Simple English Wikipediacan be better than Wikipedia in English.
Do not fill your slides with too much text, just facts and figures and key words. You can use index cards to remember what you want to explain.
When delivering the presentation, feel confident, make eye contact with your audience and smile at them, be sure to have inflection in your voice so that you engage listeners, use hand motions and beware of your body language.
Don’t forget to include a table of contents at the beginning.
Prepare a worksheet for your classmates to fill in while watching your presentation.

As if there weren’t enough anti-Apple ads from companies like Samsung and Google, now Carlsberg is getting in on the game too.
The beer company released its first UK ad this week for Somersby cider, which pokes fun at all the fuss surrounding Apple product launches. In the video, dozens of people rush into an Apple-style store to get their hands on the latest products, except instead of iPhones and iPads, the store’s tables are filled with actual apples and glasses filled with cider.
The Somersby salespeople tout their products as “completely wireless,” being “full of great content” and, perhaps best of all, working “perfectly in direct sunlight.”
