Oliver Twist, chapters 7, 8 and 9

Chapter 7: A New Home

Oliver was hurt during the night and abandoned by Sikes and Toby Crackit. In the morning he wakes up and goes to the house. The servants see the blood on his arm and take him into the house. Rose Maylie and her aunt live int the house and when they see Oliver, they decide to help him. Oliver is very ill but finally gets well and lives happily in the cottage with the two ladies. But… one day, he sees Fagin and Monks from the window. They are looking for the boy. Oliver is very scared and tells the servants.

Chapter 8: Nancy’s Secret

Monks, the criminal, goes to talk to Mrs Bumble, who was helped Oliver’s mother before she died. Monks convinces the woman to give him a ring and he throws it into the river. The ring was Oliver’s mother’s and her name was written on it. One day he went to see Fagin and told him this story, Nancy heard the story and decided to help Oliver, so she went to speak to Rose Maylie and explained that Oliver was in danger. They agreed to meet next Sunday in London Bridge.

Chapter nine: Old Friends Meet

Oliver wants to see Mr Brownlow and Rose Maylie takes him to visit him. Mr Brownlow is very happy to see Oliver. Rose tells Mr Brownlow about Oliver’s problems and decide to help him togehter. They meet Nancy and she tells them about Monks. One of Fagin’s boys hears their conversation.

Oliver Twist, chaper 6: The crime

Bill Sikes is planning to break into a country house and steal the money and jewels. His only problem is that the house is closed at night and only a little boy can get into through a small window. That boy, of course, is Oliver Twist.

One night Sikes, Oliver and Toby Crockit, another thief, walk to the country house. Oliver, very scared, enters the house but he tries to warn the family. Two men appear on the stairs and shoot their gun, Oliver is hurt but he can run out of the house. When Bill Sikes and toby Crockit see that he is bleeding so badly they escape and leave him on the garden wall. The two servants from the house do not see Oliver, who is unconcious and spends the night alone in the garden.
