STEREOTYPES

Stereotypes are ideas about people of other particular groups, based on membership in that group. They may be positive or negative prejudicial, and may be used to justify certain discriminatori behaviors. Some people consider all stereotypes negatives. Stereotypes are rarely completely accurate, based on some kernel of truth, or completely fabricated.

For example, according with the Black Americans stereotypes, Black men are generally supposed to be very good musicians (specially of Jazz) and good basketball players, but at the same time there are other sterotypes that describe them as aggressive, prone to lives of crime, and likely to be on drugs.

Not all the spanish are lazy an party animals. The Spanish stand out in the expressive and hot aspects of the life (emotion, vitality, leisure), opposite to the sets of instruments or colds (efficiency, discipline, work). Spain is a good country to live, but bad to work, though not so much as Italy or other Latin countries.

Nevertheless, there are valued very positively other features of the Spanish character as the sociableness, the altruism or the human heat. Of there that the general valuation that receives Spain is good.

An important level of ignorance among the general European population does that there is not perceived to the same level of prestige that the French or the Italian culture.
