Teenagers that have changed the world

Just about to finish unit 1 I just wanted you to reflect on teenagers that have changed the world. Here there is the story of Malala Yousafzai, a Pakistani activist for female education, who stood up to the Taliban and nearly died for the cause.

Watch the videos and post your personal opinion. Write a minimum of 50 words.

Talking about a special object

Right, here you have the speaking activity of the FIRST TERM.

You must think of a special object in your life and give an oral presentation about it. Include the following points in your speech.

  1. Introduce yourself.
  2. What is the special object you are going to describe?
  3. Describe the object: colour, size, material…
  4. How did you get it?
  5. When did you get it?
  6. Where were you when you got it?
  7. Why did you get it?
  8. Why did you choose it for the presentation? Why is it so special for you?
  9. Conclusion.

Also remember that…

  • This time you’ll only be able to bring a card with the most important information. You mustn’t read; we already know you can read 😉 It’s time you learn the text by heart.
  • If possible, remember to bring your special object  in class.
  • It’s very important you have a look at the post on Oral Presentations.
  • This is the rubrica in order to assess the oral presentation on your special object:

School life

Hey class! Just talked about rules at school today, didn’t we?

Write 4 sentences comparing your school life NOW with when you were at PRIMARY SCHOOL.

  • Use the topics: homework, meals, school uniform, the school day, teachers…
  • Use the verbs:
    • OBLIGATION: have to (present) – had to (past)
    • OBLIGATION: must (present and past)
    • PROHIBITION: mustn’t (present and past)

Look at the example to help you 😉

I don’t have to wear a school uniform now, but when I was at primary I had to wear a white t-shirt and a blue tracksuit in PE.
