Hello “Fun at Fivers”! This Winter term we travelled to the South Pole with a boy and a penguin. But the penguin wasn’t LOST! He was just LONELY! Now, the penguin has a FRIEND!

Take a look at these gorgeous penguins we painted following Oliver Jeffers method “how to draw a penguin”

Secret Santa is coming to Thau!

Hello our dearest Fun Time students and Happy New Year!

th

Remember what we did before leaving school during Christmas holidays? Yes! We did a Secret Santa! We prepared three different workshops: a snapper, an origami star and an origami tree and these three objects were thought to be presents for our secret Santa. Any idea of what is a Secret Santa? Is what we call Amic Invisible in catalan. You put all the names of the participants in a secret box and then, one by one, you pick one of this small pieces of paper, so… the name you take is the person you’re going to give the present to! And… guess what? All the presents were done by hand and we finally wrapped them with shiny and nice paper. To add so music to the festivity our teachers prepared a version of the song Santa Claus is coming to town. Here you can read the lyrics:

Secret Santa’s coming to Thau

Christmas at Thau is so much fun

there are presents all around

Secret Santa’s coming today

Christmas at Thau is so much fun

there are presents all around

Secret Santa’s coming today

Get all your presents ready

There’s so much to prepare

And don’t forget to wrap them up

Everybody clap your hands!

WORKING ON… FUN TIME BOOKS!

These days, the first books were found in London and they were sent with a postcard from our different families, travelling around the world!: The Sporty Family, the Chocolate Minions, The Lines Family, The Ghosts Family, The Animals Family… All of them making a great effort to try to find our books… But! Not everything is that easy! If we want to get the books back to Thau and Fun Time we need to read them and pass several tasks so that they realize we love and appreciate them!

Throughout these weeks we have been doing so and… our students have been working really hard to make it possible. Fun Time II (The Chocolate Minions and The Lines) is working on the book Dear Fairy Godmother by Nick Sharrat. They’re preparing, in pairs, a new version of the book. There’s a Read Aloud on youtube, if you want to check it at home:

The Animals and The Eagles classes are working on There’s a lion in my cornflakes! by Michelle Robinson. They are preparing a new food box with a free animal as a present. Check the book trailer on vimeo:

Finally, the Doggies and Pets class are preparing a snapper based on the book Goodnight already! by Jory John & Benji Davies. Have a look on the trailer:

See you soon!

Fun Time III… non stop!

Our Fun Time III students are working really hard this term to make the most out of it! You’ve been reading their posts on the blog, in which you’ve checked the great job they are doing in the Pen Pal friends project but… that’s not all! They are full of energy and we are already preparing the Christmas theater play we are going to perform in front of P3, P4 and P5 kids! The title of the theater play is: Have you seen Christmas? by Marjorie Kenedy. If you click here you will read the script but… our students are so great we have already changed some parts and the dialogues with our own ideas! Such a good job!

To start setting the mood we have as well watched some Christmas ads and our students lead a discussion about the meaning of Christmas.
