MY SCHOOL

The name of my school is El Carme-Vedruna. The school  is located in the center of Manlleu. It has got 27 classrooms, and we have a very big space to play. There are 700 students in the school. We start at 9:00 o’clock and we have lunch at 1:00 o’clock, and we start again at 3:00 o’clock and we finish at 5:00 o’clock.

The subjects we study are: English, Science, Religion, Spanish, Art, Maths, Catalan, Music, Destí, P.E, Tutoring, reading and we algo go to the playground! We have lots of teachers. The headteacher is called Assumpta.

We have got chromebooks three hours every week. Chromebooks are a type of computers that we have in the class. We also do many competitions about reading, writing and mathematics.

In my school there are different subjects , for example : English , Maths , Science , Catalan, Science in English , Spanish and more .

Every subject lasts one hour . After the playground , we read 30 minutes everyday . Three times a week , we have laptops , the subjects we use laptops are : Catalan , Science and Spanish . My favourite subject is gym, last year we played basketball and now golf .

MY CITY

Manlleu is a city in Osona, Catalonia. There are 20200 inhabitants and we speak Catalan and Spanish. There are also five schools, two swimming pools, a football pitch, a museum, some restaurants and shops.

In Manlleu there are lots of buildings, the most important building is “El Campanar de Manlleu”: it’s a tower, it’s very high and it has got bells and a clock. The most important square is called ”Fra Bernadí”. In Manlleu there is a beautiful river, the river Ter. The legend explains that in the river there is a big snake. The snake has got a name: “La Serpent de Manlleu”. It has got a diamond on his head, and it has long blonde hair. It also eats people and animals. This legend is similar than in Scotland.

MY COUNTRY

My country is Spain, it´s big but we live in Catalonia. Our region is Osona and  it is a small region. The traditional food is “ Pa amb tomàquet “ . The capital of Spain is Madrid and the capital of Catalonia is Barcelona. In Barcelona there are important architectures: La Sagrada Família, The park of Gaudí… In Spain there are different islands: Tenerife, Menorca, Mallorca, Las Palmas…

Catalonia is our country. There are a lot of people (about 7.000.000). Our capital is Barcelona, and we have very important museums.

Catalonia is a part of Spain, but we speak Catalan. We also know Spanish. We want the independence, the same as you.
