Years ago I made an activity with students of 1st ESO in the Elective Class named Space and Volume about how to draw a landscape with a house and other elements. In this activity, students had to follow the different steps explained in several video tutorials that I recorded in my computer.
You can see the first video of this activity below.
Students had not much problems doing this activity.
It was very usefull for me to make this activity with video tutorials because there were a lot of students that never needed any individual attention.
Sometimes they did not understand what I was saying in the video tutorial but they were able to guess the different steps only watching the video.
If you want to check all videos you can follow the chain of links here or find them all at my Youtube video channel.
Whith students of 3rd ESO I have also made some activities using video tutorials I have found in Youtube with great results. The next picture was made by one of my students following the video tutorial instructions:
The student who did this drawing is an student that has not a lot of skills drawing and painting in a paper but he is able to do really good jobs using the computer.
Finally, it is very important to tell your students how useful is to save the document each 5 minutes to prevent the lost of their job for some unwanted computer crash. You have to remember them to bring their pen-drive each class too.
I have had some troubles working with Inkscape. Sometimes, this program crashes. But usually, it creates a new file with the date and the hour of the crash and you can reopen the program and open this security copy file to keep on working with your document without data lost.
Other video tutorials I have recorded are: Drawing 3D Shapes and Animation with Flash. All these tutorials are splited in different videos so you have to watch them one after another to reach the end of the practice.
