“Gastronomy and Traditions: an European Cultural Legacy”
INS Sta. Eulàlia, l’Hospitalet de Llobregat
The project “Gastronomy and traditions: an European Cultural Legacy” is to promote intercultural dialogue by identifying the specific gastronomic customs and traditions of a European country, bringing our own contribution to it and obtaining some benefits out of the results of this dialogue. The project is aimed at facilitating the understanding of the national traditions, customs and habits of the countries involved in the project, to understand and tolerate each other, forming liberal attitudes towards dissimilarity of other cultures, extending educational topics about knowledge relating to partner schools; get in touch with mother languages of the partners; creation of multilinguistic contents in secondary education; give learning opportunities to students in danger of dropping out of the school system. The Comenius project is addressed to the pupils, teachers and local communities, to all the European countries involved. During the two years of the project, different activities will occur and they will be integrated within the school curriculum, activities which will end with a cookery book containing traditional recipes from all the Comenius’ partners.
