We worked “the recipe” and we made different traditional and typical Catalan recipes.

Then, we presented them. PHOTOS of the presentations:

In 3rd and 4th levels, as we worked about food, we made a recipe.

They chose to make  WAFFLES and this is the recipe:

(for 12 people aproximately):

Ingredients:

-1kg of flour

-1,5l of milk

-100gr of sugar

-300gr of butter

-10 eggs

-leavening ( 1 enveloppe)

-a bit of salt

Procedure:

1. Melt the butter in pieces
2. Break the eggs and beat them.
3. Pour the milk and beat.
4. Add the sugar and mix.
5. Add the butter.
6. Add the flour slowly and beat with a spoon or in case, use a beater. Let the dough settle for 1 hour.
7. Pour the dough in the waffle iron.
8. Add the chocolate or honey.

3rd and 4th level classes have learnt lots of names of different food and we practised  going to a food shop.

They learnt how to ask for food and how to sell. We used euros and they went shopping.

More or less, the dialogue was the following one:

C(costumer): Hello, good morning/good afternoon.

SA (Shop assistant): Hello! Can I help you?

C: Yes, can I have ….(a banana, an ice cream, crisps, chips, fish, meat, a youghurt…)?

SA: No, I’m sorry  / Yes, here you are.

C: How much is it?

SA: It’s…. €. Anything else?

C: Yes, can I have ….?

…

(after asking all the food, the costumer pays)

C: Bye, bye!

SA: Goodbye! Thank you!
