Lapbook

As a Z.E.R. we have been working on a “Food project” as we have said  before. That means that each teacher and subject has been working on different templates to make with the children in order to learn different food items. In English we have done a “Vegetable Wheel” with the oldest children and a “Fruit Memory” with the youngest.

Autumn. Mushroom Calligram and Pumpkins.

We like the colours of Autumn! Autumn brings leaves, yellows, reds, oranges and browns. Time to get inside and start eating Autumn fruits as mushrooms, chestnuts, sweet potatoes, pumpkins, pomegranates, grapes, oranges, mandarins, apples…
This year to study the fruits of Autumn we made a Mushroom Calligram where we wrote all the Autumn Fruits and things related to Autumn we know. We also sang “Autumn Leaves” song from Eric Clapton, and others.

Spring and Easter 2015

Spring is finally here! To celebrate it we talked about flowers, bunnies. Eggs, snails, ladybirds, butterflies, goose, asparragus, the sun, the clouds, the rain, the rainbow, the wind…and of course about the Easter bunny and the Easter eggs!
We made a class display were we coloured, cut, glued, and labeled it.
To end with Easter we will have an Easter Hunt with the Easter Bunny comming all the way from The United Kingdom to see us and bring us delicious Easter Eggs!

Thanksgiving 2014

During Thanksgiving we learnt about the American culture. We learnt about how the Native Americans received the Europeans when they discovered the continent. The indians received them with the best of their foods: corn, pumpkin, potatoes, sweet potatoes, turkey….
Nowadays in North America they celebrate Thanksgiving as a day to give thanks to the land for all we have. Families get together and eat corn bread, corn on the cob, pumpkin cake or pie, sweet potatoes, and turkey.

Christmas in Z.E.R. El Sió

This last Christmas season we decided to design a Christmas Card. We chose a Snowman to be the centre, and we picked our favorite character. Then we colored it, we cut it, and we glued it on the blue turquoise cardboard. Afterwards, we attached the cotton balls me made on the top of the Snowman. We folded the card in half and on the next session we worked on the letter. The card was ready to hang on our walls for some days before we gave it to our families. MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! 🙂

Pictures with Louisa

We love our assistant! This year Louisa has been spending a year with us in each and every school and getting to know each child. The children love talking to her, asking and answering questions and working with the program GoAnimate. They are very curious about the weather in England, the flag, the language, the culture, Louisa´s family and everything you can imagine! Thanks Louisa for a great year together!

Saint Valentines

HEART ATTACK!!! <3
February 14th is the day of love in English speaking countries… and nowadsays the festivity is being adopted by other cultures. This year we created a heart attack. First of all, our assistant gave us the idea of looking at love heart images and we found some good ones such as: “First love”, “Sweet kisses”, “In love”, “Hugs” etc. We chose our favourite and wrote it on a pink heart (LIGHT PINK OR BRIGHT PINK) and we glued it on a big poster to display around the schools.

Goanimate

This year we have been doing an interdisciplinary project called “Food”. For that reason Louisa has been focusing on Restaurant and Supermarket scenarios. Using the programme “GoAnimate”, the children would write a dialogue with Louisa, then they would choose the characters, and they were ready to practice recording. Here you can have a look.
