More than just a car-Nissan GTR NISMO Review

The Nissan GTR NISMO, the most powerful of the Nissan models, is
the first car reviewed in this blog. Nissan’s Engineers sure have archieved the apex of car engineering with this not-so pricey supercar. Being the iconic Nissan Skyline GTR’s predecessor, the new GTR project put forward on 2007 did not  carry the Skyline badge and opted for a completely new exotic, sporty look.

The NISMO GTR incorporates an impressive 3.8L twin turbo V6 engine, which, altogether with an automatic sequential transmission, brings 600 horsepower to the wheels. With that amount of stock power it cannot be considered driving but flying low. For instance, it has a top speed of 310 km/h and with only 2.7 seconds it reaches 100 km/h with its ferocious acceleration rate. Just as I was saying, flying low.

The exterior is clearly race inspired giving it an aerodynamic and agressive design. The black edition of the car offers an ever more breath taking choice, and every possible option has outstanding airflow and elaborated ends all throughout the machine and its two doors. The interior does not fall behind, with its premium leather. For those who love music, they will not be disappointed with the GTR Bose sound system, providing exclusive precise sound. The NISMO seats are not only as comfortable as the best of sofas but avoid bodyroll even on closed curves. The car is one of the only supercars to offer four seats and also incorporates touchscreen media to access different car modes, music and radio, etc.

The performance of the car is simply astonishing, a word suitable enough to describe its brilliance is yet to be discovered. The Nissan GTR NISMO Brembo brakes are smooth and act fast, to reduce acceleration speed at a fast rate. It is of no doubt that the GTR is for agressive, experienced drivers. The gravitational body is extremely low so it is the best option to take a fast curve without fearing it. The fuel mileage in the car is acceptable to fairly good depending on the driving style and how much the drivers floor it. The NISMO suspension is extraodinary and will adapt depending on the terrain to a more hard or smooth configuration.

The Nissan GTR NISMO offers the king of specs a super pricey exotic exterior similar to a Lamborgini and Ferrari for a much more reduced price of 160k, and all in all, it is a car that has all the specs of a super car and is extremely fun to drive. It goes without saying that it will catch the eyes of all that hear the spectacular roar of its exhaust.

BOOK REVIEW – All the Bright Places (Jennifer Niven)

All the Bright Places

By Jennifer Niven

€ 6.69

Brightplaces

All the Bright Places by Jennifer Niven is a heartbreaking book about mental illness and the effects it has on the person and those around them.

Theodore Finch is suicidal, fascinated by death, he constantly thinks of ways he might kill himself. But each time, something good, no matter how small it is, stops him from doing it.

Violet Markey suffers from a Post Traumatic disorder, living in the future, counting the days until graduation, when she can escape the present she lives in, remembering the recent death of her sister.

When Finch and Violet meet on the ledge of the bell tower at school, six storeys above the ground, it’s unclear who saves who. And when they pair up on a project to discover the ‘natural wonders’ of their state, they go, as Finch says, where the road takes them, to discover the small, bizarre, beautiful, ugly and surprising places in their state.

Both Finch and Violet make more important discoveries about each other. It’s only with Violet Finch can be himself: a weird, funny guy who is not so much of a freak after all. And it’s only with Finch that Violet can stop wishing away the days and start living them. But as Violet’s world grows, Finch’s begins to shrink.

This heartbreaking story is of love shared, lives lived, and two teens that find one another while standing on the edge. Moreover, the book explores adult themes making them understandable for young adults.

I really enjoyed reading this book because it gave me a lot to think about and it’s a book that stayed with me long after finishing it.
