0ENGLISH SEMINAR OBJECTIVES 2015-2016
We would like our seminar to be a unique place where:
1- To have sustained conversations in English among teachers
2- To meet the teachers that work in the very same teaching area, to create a sense of belonging to a group of professionals that work together for common goals and shared expectations, in order to build closer bonds among teachers and schools.
3- To reflect on the goals and processes of our teaching and to work collaboratively by sharing ideas, activities, resources, strategies and methodologies related to the experiences that will be presented.
4- To manage and organise the resorces: English bag, widgets, “Upon a time…”
5-To compile all the seminar information in the blog.
6- To manage the seminar through the CRP web, the email and/or the whattsapp.

After counting the number of schools that are willing to participate with 50e, we have a total amount of about 400 euros to buy a set of gadgets.
-
The gadgets we would like to have in our kit are the following: 6 big points, 2 interactive murals, 2 sequences de 6, 6 black talk point (30’), 2 interconnected gadgets such as “big point aleatori”.

The coordinator will ask the CRP if they can set the kit up for us and also if they can write a payment receipt of 50e for every school.
-
We also commented that if anybody is interested in any particular resource to be added in the English suitcase, please send your suggestions with the ISBN number to the coordinator by email.

Bring your Saint George activities, Pinterest accounts or any other resource you would like to share with the rest of the seminar members on April, 8th. We recommend you to bring a pendrive.
6.Our next session will take place at Eulàlia Bota School. It will run from 17:00-19:00h.
Some of us shared their issues in class on Classroom management and everyone tried to help providing suggestions that may work.

LECTURE AT THE CRP on February, 4th
USING GADGETS AT THE SCHOOL ( six different schools presented their experiences)
For those that could not make it, here you have some information of the presentations about how gadgets can be used in class. Some of the ideas may be useful for your classes.

SOME USEFUL INFORMATION:
1. Our last session of the seminar that was supposed to be on the 6th of May (WEDNESDAY) will be postpone to the 11th of May (MONDAY) because the Nou Barris CRP has invited us to attend a lecture on CRIL. It will be located at the Nou Barris CRP. (Carrer Nil, 27).
2. Asking some money to our schools in order to buy some gadgets for the English Seminar and starting a process of borrowing was suggested. We will talk further on this matter in our session.
3. Our next session of the seminar will be located at the Escola El Sagrer. It will run from 17:00 to 18:30 due to the extension of our previous session.

1. The list of cell phone numbers have been updated.
2. All members of the seminar have been encouraged to post a profile on the seminar blog again.
3. All members of the seminar have been invited to introduce new posts of any kind on the seminar blog, too.
4. Everyone will send the list of interesting websides via email before January, 28th in order to unify all the information provided in one single document. This document will be shared through google.docs.
5.Our next meeting will be hold at the CRP. There will be a presentation of the use of different gadgets that may be useful to encourage oral production in our classes. The lecture will start at 17:30 and it will last until 19:30. After that, we are going to meet for 30 more minutes to agree on a calendar of use of such devices.
6. The meeting on March, 4th will be held at Escola EL SEGRER ( C/Costa Rica, 26; METRO: Sagrera). That meeting will be 30 minutes shorter due to the extension of our previous meeting. So it will run from 17:00 to 18:30.
7. We all agree on reflecting on our job to come up with a list of good ideas, routines …that work well and we would like to share; but also with a list of issues,worries… that we struggle with.
8. We decided a calendar of borrowing the CRP resource pack that is the following:

*Each school will be responsible to fetch the ENGLISH SUITCASE at the previous school and to check that nothing is missing .
* It was also said that it would be useful to have the bibliography of all the resources of the suitcase by email beforehand in order to maximize the use of the different materials.

1. THE FIRST PART OF THE MEETING WAS DEDICATED TO ENTER INTO THE BLOG OF THE SEMINAR TO SEE HOW NEW PUBLICATIONS COULD BE POSTED. SOME TEACHERS PUBLISHED THEIR PROFILE AS A MEMBER. UNFORTUNATELY, OUR BLOG DESIGN DOES NOT ALLOW MORE THAN ONE PERSON TO WORK SIMULTANEOUSLY WITHIN THE SAME SECTION OF THE BLOG. THAT IS THE REASON WHY, THE TASK OF PUBLISHING NEW STUFF ON THE BLOG WAS TOO DIFFICULT.
2. DURING THE SECOND PART OF THE MEETING, WE SHARED A WIDE RANGE OF WEBPAGES THAT COULD BE USEFUL IN MANY DIFFERENT WAYS IN OUR DAILY TEACHING. THE NUMBER OF DIFFERENT WEBSITES WAS VERY LARGE AND IT WAS IMPOSSIBLE TO SEE ALL OF THEM. THUS, WE ALL AGREED IS SHARING THEM SOMEHOW THROUGH A WORD DOCUMENT. SO, IF YOU HAVE OR KNOW ANY INTERESTING WEB/S SEND THE LIST TO ME THROUGH EMAIL AND I WILL EDIT A COMPILATION OF THEM ALL THAT WILL BE SEND TO YOU AFTERWARDS.

0SUMMARY OF SESSION 2
1. After updating each member personal data, a group of WhatsApp has been created to facilitate communication. Unfortunately there are members who have not been incorporated because their cell phone number has not been provided yet. Hopefully in our next meeting everyone will be finally included.
2. Everyone who attended the session was asked if there was any inconvenience in sending emails where everyone’s email address was visible. Everyone agreed on this matter.
3. In order to be invited as editor members of the blog, everyone MUST validate their address once on XTEC.BLOCS asap.
4. Once included in the list of members, each teacher will write a short professional description AND / OR a picture in the MEMBERS page. Everyone is committed to post at least once on the block before our next meeting.
5. It was suggested to attend our next meetings in different schools. Our very next session will be again at the Pegaso School because the resource center material is located there at the moment. Our January meeting will be held at Ramón y Cajal School. The location of our last four sessions has not been decided yet. Several schools were interested.
6. We reorganized the resource center material in different packages. Our proposals will be shared with the Resource Center member in our next session.
7. Some information about the activity ” Lunch in English ” organized in the teaching area of Sant Martí was provided.
