Simple Present: Negatives and Questions
- 1. Forming a negative
Negatives in the simple present are formed by adding don’t or doesn’t + infitive form of the verb:
I don’t sing
You don’t sing
He doesn’t sing
She doesn’t sing –> does + not + infinitive verb
It doesn’t sing
We don’t sing
You don’t sing
They don’t sing
* Only the “3 Marías” (he, she, it) use DOESN’T, the rest use DON’T
