MORSE CODE:

Activity:
One child at a time sends a sentence using the telegraph. The rest of the group will have to guess the sentence sent by the telegraph. The sentences will be written in cards and they will have to choose the correct card according to the sentence they hear in morse.

THE GIANT BOARDGAME:

Materials needed:
Big colour cards
A giant dice
Giant counters

Activity:
In pairs they will have to go through the board game answering the questions written in the different boxes. If the answer is right they can continue playing, If the answer is not right they have to go back where they were.
The questions will be published in the blog, so they can find the answers before the English Day.

What did Marconni invent? The radio
What did Ray Tomlinson invent, the e-mail or the mobile? The e-mail.
Who invented the mobile? Martin Cooper.
EINSTEIN HAS GOT AN IDEA:

Materials needed:
An Einstein poster
An electric bulb made of card
Velcro
A foulard or a bow

Activity:
One child has a foulard around his/her eyes, he/she cannot see. He/she has to put an electric bulb on top of Einstein’s head. The rest of the group have to give him/her instructions to be able to put the bulb in the correct place.

THE TELEPHONE:

Plastic glasses (2)

Activity:
The children get a card with a word written on it. They have to pass the word to the next child by saying it using the telephone. The last child to hear the word has to get the picture card that represents the word. Two teams, the winner is the one that gets all the wordr right.

THE TWISTER:
- Materials needed:
A twister spinnerA twister mat7 players and 1 referee
- Activity:
Spread out the twister mat on a flat surface. The players will take off their shoes. Set the players on a line.One player, the referee, spins the twister spinner and calls out the picture and the part of the body (right/left foot or right/left hand) where the first player has to move. This action will be repeated as many times as players in the group. The players will be eliminated if they fall down or if they touch the mat with any other part of the body apart from their feet or hands.
- Sentences:
The referee player (the one who spins the twister spinner) has to use these sentences:
Put your left hand on the table circlePut your right foot on the rollerblading circle.
THE ROCKET:
- Materials needed:
9 empty planets3 rockets9 envelops with questions
- Activity:
The planets will be set on three lines with three planets on them. The players will line up in front of the planets.The first player will have to put the rocket on one of the planets ( buy throughing it to the distance) and answer the question that will be placed in the planet. According to the distance where the planets are placed, the questions will be much more difficult but they can score much more points. There will be a board with the results obtained by all the teams so that the teams will be encouraged to improve the results.

What’s the weather like today? Today it’s sunny (1 point)
What is in the centre of the solar system) the sun (2 points)
Who was the first astronaut to be on the moon?

CALLING YOU
- Materials needed: A table, cards with telephone numbers, cards with questions to answer in a conversation, two telephones.
- Activity: The teacher gives one telephone number to each child and calls out 2 numbers to be the person calling to another 2 pupils. They have to start a conversation with the questions they get in the cards they have chosen by chance.
- Possible questions are: How are you? What’s your name? What’s the weather like? Do you like sports? What kind of sports do you like?
ELECTRICITY
- Materials needed: a table, cards with questions, cards with 4 possible ansvwers/ or true or false answer, cards with the right answer to check the results.
- Activity: The pupils have to split into two groups. The cards with the questions are distributed to each pupil and they have to answer them with the cards which have the 4 possible answers. If they answer right, they have one point for the group. They can check the right answers with the cards in the consultation envelope.
- Sentences: Was Narcís Monturiol the inventor of electricity? True or false? Who was the inventor of the telephone?
