Tornada a l’escola

El periodista Paul Jones visita la seva antiga escola després de 25 anys. Ell hi va amb el seu fill, Matt, un alumne de l’escola. Són les coses diferents ara?

Aquest és el diari de Paul.

Mates (doble)

El dia comença a les nou en punt amb mates. La mestra és la Sra. Murphy. Ella és estricta, però als alumnes els hi agrada. Les mates són fàcils ara, Matt fa servir una calculadora a classe.

Tecnologia de l’alimentació

Aquesta és una nova assignatura per mi, i és interessant. Les assignatures de l’escola són diferents avui en dia, ells no estudien Llatí ara.

Educació Física

Oh, no! Jo tinc 42 anys i la gimnàstica no és la meva activitat preferida. Està bé a la tele, però no en una classe.

Dinar

El menjar del menjador escolar no està malament. A Matt no li agrada perquè avui no hi ha patates fregides.

Tecnologia i informàtica

Això és molt difícil. Faig servir un ordinador a casa, però soc molt lent en aquesta classe i no acabo la meva tasca.

Francès

Terrible! El mestre no parla anglès a classe, i hi ha un examen! Matt copia d’un amic i jo copio de Matt. El mestre no està gaire content amb nosaltres. L’escola acaba a dos quarts de quatre – fiu!

Conclusió

Un dia interessant. L’escola és diferent en aquests dies, però no gaire diferent

In the first and second terms you have experienced a couple of oral activities: oral exposition in front of your classmates, which you could prepare at home and choose the topic, and personal interview with the teacher, when we talked,. quite spontaneously, about your routines, research project …

Hi Fran,

I’m on holiday here in Australia with my mum, dad, brother and sisters. It’s very hot here, so we often swim in the sea.

At the moment, I’m sitting in an Internet café with my brother and we’re drinking mango juice. He really likes it, so we come here every day. In the evenings we play football on the beach.

Tomorrow we’re going to Byron Bay. It’s got lots of surf shops. I hope you’re having a good time.
