GEOFFREY CHAUCER
He was born in London in 1340, John Chaucer was your father an important merchant. In 1359 served as a soldier in the war in France, but then taken prisioner and the King paid the ransom. In 1360 Geoffrey explained stories for the sophisticated society of the court. He married Philippa, time before wrote a famous poem. Other stories interted in religion. In 1372 visited Italy ans stayed for eleven months. In this time he knew French literatura and work with Dante and Boccaccio. He wrote the Canterbury Tales, but never finished the book. He died in 1400.
THOMAS BECKET
He was born in London in 1118, he started the career in 1154 he became Chanceller to King Henry. Becket defended the power of the church, for these reason he escaped to France, but in 1170 returned to England went he stayed in cathedral, killed the Archbischop. Many pilgrims from other parts of the world visit the tomb of Becket. The Pope ordened that converted a Thomas Becket a Saint. Now, was could visited the tomb in Cathedral of Canterbury.
