The Prat artichokes are the most famous of the Baix Llobregat. But in this region the production of this vegetable goes beyond this population. Also using Parc Agrari land, Sant Boi de Llobregat is another important producer of artichokes.
With the aim of vindicating its agricultural present, the City Council of this city has organized, for the second year, the ‘Month of the Carxofa’, which will culminate with the eighteenth edition of the Carxofada, a day dedicated to this vegetable.
It is about a few weeks where the restoration becomes with the artichoke creating dishes with this food as the main protagonist. In addition, other types of activities are carried out, such as cooking courses and even bicycle rides through the Parc Agrari, which aim to publicize the production process of artichokes.
For the Carxofada, on April 2, various restaurants in the city prepare a tasting menu designed for the occasion. They will cook, facing the public, for 2,000 people.
The ‘Month of the Carxofa’ is made thanks to the collaboration of the City Council with the restoration guild of Sant Boi Degusta, the Cooperativa Agrària Santboiana and the Parc Agrari del Baix Llobregat.
