L’Institut Rafael Casanova es forma en agricultura ecològica
Central Parc ha rebut la visita de les noies i nois de 2n d’ESO de l’Institut Rafael Casanova de Sant Boi a les parcel·les del Parc Agrari. La cooperativa ha preparat una activitat educativa i lúdica anomenada “Fem de pagès durant 1 dia!” per apropar l’alumnat a l’agricultura ecològica. Noies i nois han tingut un primer contacte amb la pagesia, una professió molt arrelada al municipi que s’està perdent.

Després de l’arribada a la finca de Ca la Nanda, l’activitat ha començat amb una presentació en anglès de Central Parc i del Parc Agrari. L’exposició també s’ha centrat en el cultiu d’un dels productes estrella durant la temporada d’hivern i primavera: les carxofes. Tot seguit, els i les joves s’han dividit en grups per dur a terme les tasques habituals en un camp de carxofes amb l’equipament necessari com les eines, els insums i els elements de protecció.

Noies i nois han distingit entre les diferents plantes dels camps, han tret herbes i han collit carxofes per descobrir com es prepara una comanda. La sessió també ha inclòs una part lúdica de preparació de carxofes a la brasa collides pels joves i la celebració d’una carxofada popular. Com a comiat, el pagès de Central Parc ha repartit 1 kg de verdures per a cada alumne de l’Institut.

The Prat artichokes are the most famous of the Baix Llobregat. But in this region the production of this vegetable goes beyond this population. Also using Parc Agrari land, Sant Boi de Llobregat is another important producer of artichokes.

With the aim of vindicating its agricultural present, the City Council of this city has organized, for the second year, the ‘Month of the Carxofa’, which will culminate with the eighteenth edition of the Carxofada, a day dedicated to this vegetable.

It is about a few weeks where the restoration becomes with the artichoke creating dishes with this food as the main protagonist. In addition, other types of activities are carried out, such as cooking courses and even bicycle rides through the Parc Agrari, which aim to publicize the production process of artichokes.

For the Carxofada, on April 2, various restaurants in the city prepare a tasting menu designed for the occasion. They will cook, facing the public, for 2,000 people.

The ‘Month of the Carxofa’ is made thanks to the collaboration of the City Council with the restoration guild of Sant Boi Degusta, the Cooperativa Agrària Santboiana and the Parc Agrari del Baix Llobregat.
