My favourite place to live

My favourite place to live

The picture you can see is not my bedroom, neither any part of my house but it’s my dream to live in this house one day.

This is modern house is situated in El Salvador, and it’s called Casa Gutierrez.

It was designed by P&P Architects. Casa Gutierrez has the exquisite feel of a contemporary home with traditional spaces. There’s a Salvadoran kitchen, a large living room with floor to ceiling glass windows and a small terrace in the front that gives the feeling of living outdoors. It would be the perfect house if it wasn’t in Salvador, but I am wishing to live there or in a similar house in a faraway future.

My favourite place at home & my daily life

Here you have the activities of November :

My favourite place at home

My favourite place at home is my bedroom, of course. It’s the place where I study and do homework but it’s also the place where I relax and listen to music when I have enough time.

It’s really comfortable and like a fairy tale because it has got soft colours as pink or brown and I have some teddies on my bed.

Probably these are the reasons why I like it and I think that it wouldn’t be better than now.

Here you have a picture of it.

My daily life

I’m always busy because from Monday to Friday I have to go to the high school. We start school at nine o’clock and we finish at three o’clock, so we get really tired after six hours of studying. Also, when we arrive at home we have to do the homework for the next day and if we have time we have to study because this year is more difficult than the others.

I also go to an English academy on Wednesdays and Fridays for improving the language and sometimes I meet friends and we play basketball or go to the cinema.

Everyday, I eat for breakfast some toasts and I drink orange juice. Then when I have lunch I eat vegetables, soup and meat or fish (it depends) and of course I eat some desserts.

In Spain we also have a meal called “merienda” and we eat for example a piece of fruit or a sandwich in the afternoon.

Finally, I have dinner before ten o’clock and then I go to bed.

Here you have my timetable:

My Daily Routine

I usually get up at eighth o’clock and I immediately have a shower and I have breakfast five minutes later. As school starts everyday at nine o’clock, so I left home at ten to nine at I usually arrive five minutes later.

Classes finish at three o’clock, so I go back home at that time. As soon as I arrive, I have lunch. I don’t really know what to say about the meals I usually have; I not really keen on traditional food.

After lunch, I relax for a while and then I start doing my homework. On Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays I go to a Language School from half past four to ten to six. At eight o’clock I usually have already finished my homework, so I play computer games until nine o’clock, when I am used to have dinner, and I continue playing computer games until I go to bed, around twelve o’clock.

My place at home

My favorite room is my bathroom. It may sound strange to a foreign person, but here in Spain bathrooms are considered the most important part of a house, as Spaniards are usually really stressed and the only moment of peace we have in all day is while we are there.

Bathrooms are so important here that they are used to determinate our social status: rich people like to have a big one in order to make everybody know that they have enough money to afford them, while the poorest Spaniards are obligated to share them with their neighbors.

Bathrooms are used to guess how much work we usually have to do: busy people have extremely dirty bathrooms because they simply do not have enough time to clean it. People who own a clean bathroom are considered to be lazy.

Unfortunately, as my mother is currently using my bathroom I can’t take a photo of it, so I’m going to show you a picture of a typical Spanish bathroom.

(I can’t unload the image. An error is produced >_<. Doesn’t mind, as you can imagine, the picture wasn’t really nice).

It is one of the most worrying pictures I’ve ever seen, indeed. I don’t know what’s more funny: that this so dirty bathroom has got two toilet brushes or that there is the chain’s shadow but there is no chain!

My Room

My bedroom is my favourite room, as you can see dark grey colour predominates. There is a white and red dressing-table, where I keep my underwear, my scarves… On the dressing-table there is a plate where I put my keys. There is a bed, it’s black and white, I sleep there, it’s very comfortable. There’s a white bedside table with two booths where I put my stuff, and on the table there is a photograph of my friends and I. Hanging on the wall there are two red shelves, there I put some decoration to make the bedroom cooler. At the other side of the bed, there is another white bedside table with a black night-light. On the floor there is a big light brown carpet.

I like my bedroom because it is very comfortable and it is the place of my house where I relax, nothing can annoy me when I am there.

I would like my bedroom to be bigger, if it was bigger, I’d put a huge television and a black or white sofa, so I would bring my friends and we’ll have parties there. I would put a jacuzzi and that will make my bedroom unique. My bedroom has to have a very, very big terrace, there I would sunbathe and, in the summer, I would open the doors and the party will continue on the terrace. I’d like having a bathroom in my bedroom with a big mirror and a bath. Finally it has to have piped music with my favourite music.

My favourite place at home

My favourite place at home

My favourite place at home is my bedroom. It is where I spend most of my time sleeping, dancing or studying.

It is the single space at home where I have my own things and privacy.

As you can see in the picture, sometimes it’s quite untidy, because, when I take off my clothes, I leave them on the chair, so it goes accumulating more and more clothes until I have time to tidy it.

It has got two beds, one is for the guests and the other one for me. They are really comfortable!

It also has got a table where I can study and do my homework.

The thing that I like the most of my bedroom is its huge mirror. I love dancing and I go to a hip-hop dancing school where I learn some coreographies. At home, I can practise them thanks to my mirror.

My room is combinated with different shades of orange. I think this color is energetic and it helps you to be powerful day after day.

A painter I like

Although painters aren’t my favourite artists, I really admire them. Expressionism has always has always been especially interesting for me. The best known expressionist picture is The Scream, which you can see above. It was painted by Edvard Munch, a Norwegian painter, between 1893 and 1910.
