Research on the most favourite kind of sports
Spain has approximately 46,030,109 inhabitants. In this research we will see which the most favourite sports of Spanish people are, according to the latest polls.
I have been looking for information and I have found this poll done by CSI (Centre of Sociological Investigations).
Here you have a graphic of the poll’s results.
The results show us that a 23% of Spanish people love swimming, then a 22% say that his/her favourite sport is football.
Football is a famous sport in our country and a lot of people watch it on TV and also they practise it on their free time as well as basketball.
Then we have a 13% of people who like cycling, a 10% of people who like gymnastics and finally with a 7% we have basketball. The other results aren’t as important as that we have said.
My favorite philosopher
I don’t have a particular favorite philosopher, but Ortega and Gasset is one of the most important in philosophers in Spain, so I chose him.
José Ortega y Gasset (Madrid, May 9, 1883 – ibid, October 18, 1955) was a Spanish philosopher and essayist, leading exponent of the theory of perspectivism and the vital and historical reason, located in the movement of “Novecentismo”.
He was born into a wealthy family belonging to the circle of the gentry of the place. Between 1891 and 1897 study at the Jesuit school called “San Estanislao de Kostka” in Malaga. His maternal grandfather Gallego, Eduardo Gasset and Artime, had founded the newspaper El Impartial, later his father, José Ortega Munilla, would direct it. University stage begins with its incorporation into studies at the University of Deusto, Bilbao (1897-1898) and continues in the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters at the Central university of Madrid (1898-1904). Between 1905 and 1907 he studied in Germany, Leipzig, Nuremberg, Cologne, Berlin and, above all, Marburg. In the latter, was influenced by neo-Kantianism of Hermann Cohen and Paul Natorp, and others. Returning to Spain he was appointed tenured professor of psychology, logic and ethics. Ortega y Gasset exerted a great influence on twentieth century Spanish philosophy not only by the theme of his philosophical work, but also for its literary style agile.
Ortega y Gasset in “The issue of our time” develops “ratiovitalism” theory based knowledge in human life as the ultimate reality (for every human being’s life takes a concrete form) with the component of reason.
He called “vital reason” to a new kind of reason and “ratiovitalism” to a mode of thinking with reason vital. The vital reason is a reason to be constantly doing in life.
Perspectivism is a philosophical doctrine holding that all perception is subjective. The individual looks from a particular perspective in their own address.
The vital reason is the key principle of ratiovitalism.
My favourite painter
I have chosen Joan Miró, one of the most important painters of Catalonia. In my opinion his paintings are very interesting.
Joan Miró I Ferrà (Barcelona, 20 April 1893 – Palma, 25 December 1983) was a painter, sculptor, engraver and ceramist Catalan, considered one of the leading representatives of surrealism.
His life:
Joan Miró was born in 1893, where his father, Miquel Miró Adzeries had a workshop of silversmith and watchmaker. There he met Dolores Oromí I Ferrà. They got married and established his residence. Then they had two sons: Joan and Dolores.
He studied commerce, according to his father’s desire, to get a good education and get to be ‘someone’s life. Joan also wanted study art in Llotja school drawing, and be able to attend night classes, his father accepted it like a hobby for the boy.
With seventeen years he finished his studies in commerce and went to work for two years until illness forced him to retire. When he returned to Barcelona, had already decided to be a painter (also had parental permission).
His paintings:
Surrealism is the most important movimet in the interwar period, and quite possibly the most influential of them all. It was created in 1924 from, and around the Surrealist Manifest by André Breton, his spiritual guide. This artistic movement, intellectual and cultural in general is oriented around the pursuit of the liberation of the mind, using creative and critical faculties of the unconscious state and achieving a different reality that everyday reality. For many Surrealists, this research reach beyond reality and one that incorporates elements of imagination and the unconscious has manifested itself in the attempt to carry out a revolution in personal, cultural, political and social Sometimes conceived or described as a complete transformation of life through liberty, poetry, love and sex.
Here I have put two important works of Miro. One of them is “La masia”. It’soil painting which was created in 1921. It’s exposed in the National Gallery of Art de Washington (USA). It represents the familiar world of Miró.
The other one is “Carnaval d’Arlequí”. It’s also an oil painting made in 1924. The painter tried to represent the the hallucinations which are produced by hunger. You can see it in the Albright-Knox Art Gallery, Buffalo (USA)

My favorite place
My favorite place at home is my room because it’s my little space where I have all my things, where I can listen my music, …
My room it’s the biggest at home. The walls are white and has two windows which you can see the park of my building.
When you enter, the first you can see are the desktop and the shelves. If you look from left to right, in the wall, I hung pictures of models because I love fashion.
In the shelves of the left site, at the top (also in the wall) I have my postcards from Argentina, Poland, Germany, France, Spain and Maurice Island. On the first shelve I have shells, corals,… which are from Argentina. In the second one, I put all my plush toys from my childhood, and in the other two one, there are some gifts and my music player.
In the middle, there is the desktop where I make my homework, etc… Before, I didn’t have anything in my wall, so I hung my things. There I have three puzzles which I have done when I was smaller, some pictures with my friends and my collection of clothing labels. Also I put some targets of my birthdays, and some memories of places where I went.
Finally, in the right shelves, I have my dictionaries, books, etc. for the school.
If you turn right,( you can not see in this picture) there is the dressing table where I put all my makeup, perfumes, creams and my accessories. Next the dressing table, I have my TV room.
In the other wall I have my cupboard for my clothes, and finally, in the last wall I have my bed, my cat’s bed, and a very important thing, the flag of F.C.Barcelona, my football team.
