My slippers (December’s activity)

These are my slippers. I have slippers because when I stay at home I like putting it on. They are more comfortable and cleaner than shoes. My slippers have the colours of one of my favourite teams, the red and blue of Barça. In the centre of the slippers there is the emblem of the club. They are an official product of F.C.Barcelona. They are the best accessories to support the team from the sofa when you watch a match on TV. Since I have them, Barça is winning all the matches. Are my slippers the Guardiola’s secret?

November’s activity

My room/ favourite place at home

My favourite place at home is the living room. It sounds strange, but I love this room first of all because it’s tidier and more organized than my bedroom, and secondly because there has got a TV, and obviously in mine there is not. And it also stands to reason that the living room is cozier.

In my living room I use to do many functions, like watching TV, napping, sometimes doing homeworks… I think everybody loves being eating and watching some soup opera program while is lying on the sofa with a blanket above. Therefore, I am not a lazy person.

Finally I enjoy be in the living room because it’s like a point to meet all the family and get together as well.

Two writers I like

Andreu Martín and Jaume Ribera are my favourite writers. They have written a lot of adventure books for young people. Their most famous book was a series of 12 novels about a detective called Flanagan. They have sold more than 2.000 copies of this Catalan novel that has been translated into Spanish, French, Galician, German and Italian. They started to write these novels in 1987 and the last one was published in 2009.

My favourite painter

My favourite painter is Diego Velazquez . He was born in Sevilla in 1599. He is the most important Spanish painter. He was the main artist in the court of King Philip IV. He made paintings of members of the royal family, the best known is the one you can see here, called Las Meninas. In the background there is a self-portrait of the painter himself. He was a model to follow for the French impressionist artist. Edouard Manet considered him the greatest artist that has ever existed.

Coffee/Hot Chocolate

I don’t usually drink coffee because I don’t like the flavor it’s too strong. I prefer to drink hot chocolate because I like it better and it’s sweeter. Sometimes I have it in the morning or in the afternoon after doing some homework. It’s my time to relax. This is the way you prepare a nice hot chocolate: Pour some milk in a glass or cup. Warm it up in the microwave for a few seconds. Put a spoonful of chocolate and mix it with a spoon.

The shoes I wear at home

Here is a picture of my slippers. This is the footwear that I put on when I arrived home. They are comfortable and warm, so they are great after a hard day at high school or after a session of physical. At home I must wear slippers because they don’t damage the wooden floor. If I don’t my mum gets angry with me. As you can see my slippers have red and blue stripes and a badge. These are the colours of my favourite football team: FC Barcelona.

A philosofer I like

I like many philosophers but I don’t have a favorite one. What I like to do is reading different books from different authors and after that I taking my own opinions about what they say. I think that mixing ideas of different philosophers in order to use them in different situations is the best thing one can do in order to put his mind into order. Despite that, I never put my philosophical ideas into practice.

The philosopher I’m going to is Alexander Berkman, mainly because I’ve the ABC of Libertarian Communism, probably his best book, right here. I read that book during the summer and I find it interesting enough to be recommend; it’s quite simple and enjoyable too. When reading that book, just remember that you don’t have to agree with everything he says.

The coffee

I have no habit of drinking coffee so I can not say much about him. It has a pleasant smell and pleasant winter is warm in front of the television to take it lying on the couch, but in summer is pretty good with ice.

Not that I like coffee but always and been curious about the “Starbucks” but so and heard is extremely expensive. But I guess if they are so expensive it will be because they are very good.

January’s activities

Coffee

This winter I have bought a Nespresso coffee machine for my mother. When I was younger, I didn’t use to drink coffee but now I’m getting used to drinking it. I normally drink coffee in the morning, I put a capsule inside the machine and then the coffee immediately falls into the glass. Then, I mix it with a bit of sugar and that’s all!

In Spain, people drink coffee in the morning or in the afternoon. We have different types of coffee, for example, cappuccino which is my favourite, flat white, caffé late …

Here you have a picture of the coffee that I usually drink.

My favourite painter

My favourite painter is Pablo Picasso. He was born in Spain in 1881 but he lived most of his adult life in France. One of the most famous paintings of Picasso is Guernica which describes the German bombing of Guernica during the Spanish Civil War.

I have chosen this painter because he painted in another way and when you see his paintings you always feel something and sometimes discovering what he wanted to express is a bit difficult.

My favourite writer

I would like to show you my favourite writer whose name is Carlos Ruiz Zafón. He was born in Barcelona in 1964 and he has lived in Los Angeles since 1993.

I have read most of his books. Some of them are about strange happenings but

I love his stories because when you start reading them, you can’t stop until you know the mystery.

He has written a trilogy which consists of “El Palacio de la Medianoche” (The Midnight Palace)

, “Las luces de septiembre”(The lights of September), and “Marina”.

But the most known books are “The Shadow of the Wind” and “The Angel’s Game”.
