My favorite room is my bathroom. It may sound strange to a foreign person, but here in Spain bathrooms are considered the most important part of a house, as Spaniards are usually really stressed and the only moment of peace we have in all day is while we are there.
Bathrooms are so important here that they are used to determinate our social status: rich people like to have a big one in order to make everybody know that they have enough money to afford them, while the poorest Spaniards are obligated to share them with their neighbors.
Bathrooms are used to guess how much work we usually have to do: busy people have extremely dirty bathrooms because they simply do not have enough time to clean it. People who own a clean bathroom are considered to be lazy.
Unfortunately, as my mother is currently using my bathroom I can’t take a photo of it, so I’m going to show you a picture of a typical Spanish bathroom.
(I can’t unload the image. An error is produced >_<. Doesn’t mind, as you can imagine, the picture wasn’t really nice).
It is one of the most worrying pictures I’ve ever seen, indeed. I don’t know what’s more funny: that this so dirty bathroom has got two toilet brushes or that there is the chain’s shadow but there is no chain!
