We finished reading “My life as a book” by Janet Tashijan and Jake Tashijan (the illustrator) two weeks ago.
This novel is about Derek. He doesn’t want to do his summer homework: reading books; so, he decides to investigate a family secret.
It is a mysterious novel with an unexpected ending.
We think that the most amazing part is the story of Susan James, Derek’s babysitter. It is strange that a mother invents a story about her daughter’s death.
We love that Derek finally likes reading.
We have some questions for Janet. We have sent her a tweet with a link to our blog. We would be really happy to receive her answers.
Our questions:
-Why your son illustrated your novels?
-Why the illustrations are like infant pictures?
-Why you decided that Susan’s mother invents a story about her daughter’s death?
-Does the story have something to do with your real life?
Thank you Janet
