Excuses for Not Handing in Homework on Time Can Cripple to the Economy

It is becoming a trend that students are not completing their homework on time and it is also apparent that students view this as the norm. Responsibility as a student was definitely not as rigid as it was in the previous generation. In the previous generation, parents taught their kids to put homework as their first priority before and that getting good grades in school was what matter the most.
Teachers and professors consistently receive emails from students about deadline extensions with creative excuses. Students are almost always expecting the request to be approved because a lot of other students do it making it reasonable for teachers and professors to assume that the deadline set was too strict. Now the question is, is this really beneficial for students?
We live in an era where excuses are considered the norm and acceptable. If you think about it, this poses a huge threat for new generation students. School is where students develop their personality through the way they interact with others and it helps develop their sense of responsibility. If excuses and are constantly accepted, how will the new generation be like when they graduate and work in the workplace? They will even start to assume delays in client deliverables are totally acceptable. This will cause companies to lose lots of revenue as clients leave for another competitor.
Teachers and professors shouldn’t pity students and by their excuses anymore. They should be strict and follow through with the deadlines set. Should there be any problems that is the student’s responsibility and shall hold the consequences. Of course, not all excuses are invalid; if there was an emergency then it is understandable. New generation must be properly nurtured to be better than the previous generation in order to prosper growth in the economy. Ultimately, the goal is to live in a prosperous society where everyone is benefiting the most from their country. That is why Americans feel proud when they tell people that they’re Americans. It had a long history of economic development and has the one of the best financial districts in the world with great workers. This has been highly regarded globally and it is important to maintain this perception. However, this will not persist should new students coming out of college and/or university be irresponsible people. This will contribute to numerous problems for the economy.
Students need to learn how to better manage their time and planning skills. Doctors should also stop helping students write “false” illness notes for a small fee. This encourages students to purchase these notes to abuse the academic system. After all, the most common legitimate excuse is “I was sick”. Now for those who always fulfill their responsibilities are the new comers who will shine, I’m not kidding. Employers are so used to asking questions such as “why didn’t you graduate on time or what were you doing in between school” that if they see someone who managed to graduate on time with great marks, it is screaming at the employer’s face saying that this person is the ideal candidate. Companies are move fast, they do not have time to properly nurture an employee to what acceptable behavior is in the workplace, especially when it comes to responsibility. It is expected that employees have a sense of urgency for their tasks.
Bottom line, students must put in the efforts in school and be taught the old fashion way where school and marks were the top priorities or else they will face a big smack into reality. Business majors, specifically in accounting and finance are the ones who have it harder. The subjects taught are very complicated and students must spend sufficient time in order to digest and fully understand the concepts to be able to score high grades on their assignments and exams.
