
TITLE
LET’S CROSS THE BOUNDARIES OF PRIMARY EDUCATION TOGETHER
BRIEF SUMMARY
This eTwinning is based on Erasmus+ project with the same name. Partnership countries came together with the idea to develop innovative practices in teaching different school subjects and specially motivating students from 11 – 16 to be better learners. Through this project we would like to develop a lot of competences knowledge, skills, and attitudes which contributes to our students personal development, a social inclusion and an active citizenship.
Teaching foreign languages and ICT skills are currently ones of the most exciting challenges for the teaching profession. Moreover, it should not be separated from other subjects. So in this project We will work on traditional skills as languages, maths, science, sports, fostering digital literacy and we aim to include also horizontal skills as creativity, learning to learn, social and civic responsibility, entrepreneurship and cultural awareness.
AIMS
Main ideas:
- enlarge pupils´ knowledge (familiarity) about primary school subjects (included in school curriculum) via creating School Magazine
- increase competence in foreign languages (English)
- increase level of digital competences
- developing new teaching methods for different subjects
- developing methods for motivation of students
- teach students to work in international groups
- more attractive education
- motivate pupils to be interested in less atracctive subjects
- motivate pupils to read more (increase literacy)
- encourage teachers to explore new methods and broaden their horizons
- giving teachers who will promote ideas and goals of the project chances for working on cross-curricular activities
WORK PROCESS
Each of the partners will bring their unique experience with given subjects. Czech republic will introduce new methods in teaching Physics by using special building sets during the lessons and also developing pupils ´ technical skills via working with these building sets. Spanish school will concentrate on Geography. They have chosen Geography in our previous planning contacts with the coordinator school because they think it’s a theme that allows to be creative. Geography teachers know pupils need to work on spatial thinking, reading maps, relate the map information with real world objects… and this ideas open a large field of possible activities to be done in this transnational KA2 project. German team will focuse on Sport because their PE teachers involved in the programme are highly-qualified (e.g. phD degree in Sports Science) and well-experienced with students with special needs. EXPECTED RESULTS
Results (outcomes) – 8 issues of School magazine (on-line version in English, printed in mother tongue at each partner school)
Each issue will be focused on 1 school subject (Art, Physics, Maths, Music, PE (sport), History, Geography, Civics).
Contents – famous people, discoveries, quizes, puzzles, tasks for partners. Each English issue of the magazine will include special 6 language dictionary with chosen words and phrases of each topic.
Pupils will work in international groups that will provide them with the opportunity for creative and critical learning. According to the plan each team (meaning each partner school) will be responsible for one or two issues a of the Magazine and the Short-term joint staff training events connected with corresponding topic. Magazines will be disposal via twinspace in English and alos they will be printed in mother tongues in each school. |
