On Thursday, the 25th of February our 2nd grade students will meet Erin Connolly, a biologist and conservationist. In the videoconference we will meet with our european school partners, from Moldova,Turkey and Romania, and we will have the chance to hear and speak with a real sciencist. The videoconference will help us to think about biology. Biology studies living things and their relationship with the environment.
We will learn about Erin experiences and then we will discuss about this topics (with the help of the English teachers).
Topics of discussion:
- How humans and wildlife can coexist and share resources (How livestock and wildlife share water in Kenya and how guarding dogs can protect livestock from cheetahs in Namibia)
- Jaguars in the US and Mexico
- How Erin became a biologist
- Why conservation is important
