‘Woman and Bird’ sculpture inspired in Joan Miró ( 1st grade)

‘Woman and Bird’ sculpture inspired in Miro’s sculptures

In first grade, our pupils have created marvellous sculptures inspired in Miró’s famous sculpture called ‘Woman and Bird’. They have learnt to identify 3D shapes in his artworks. Spiders inspired in Louise Burgeoise’s spider sculptures (by 2n grade)

Pupils have observed Louise Bourgeois SPIDER sculptures called Maman.

They have learnt that some artists find inspiration in some animals to create their artworks. They have made SPIDERS using  some wire and newspapers. They have enjoyed a lot!

Cylinders are up!

Last week, pupils made CYLINDERS inspired in Kandinsky artworks. They learnt how to make cylinders using coloured sheets of paper.

Louise Bourgeois

She was born in France in 1911. She is most well known for her spider sculptures called ‘Maman’ ( mother). She said that her best friend was her mum and she was neat, clever, patient, indispensable and as useful as a spider.
