Patterns have repeated lines ( wavy, curved, straight, dashes, zig zag, spirals, horizontal and vertical lines), shapes ( circles, ovals, stars, hearts, triangles, squares, rectangles) and colours ( primary and secondary colours).
Bridget Riley is a British artist. He uses lines and geometric shapes in black and white and colour to produce amazing sensations of movement and illusion.

3D Hand Illusion
Art Materials: paper, a pencil, a rubber and felt tip pens, your hands!

Instructions:
- Trace around the shape of your hand.
- Take a pencil, starting from the bottom, draw a line until you reach the pencil outline of the hand, where you then make a curved line.
- Continue with straight lines and curved lines when they reach the pencil outline.
- Trace your lines using felt tips pens.
- Admire your 3D hand.
